Re: vafc2 ?

If you are N/A ditch those RSX injectors. You'll be way to rich and the stock injectors are more then adequate to handle your N/A power needs.

Re: vafc2 ?

But doesn't the VAFC have the option of tuning with a fuel map?

Re: vafc2 ?

Correct, Clint, but with RSX injectors he'll be pulling fuel EVERYWHERE especially getting that baby to idle. If you don't have access to a dyno shop don't waste your time trying to street tune it.

Re: vafc2 ?

Very true. I guess it's just not that difficult when you have a wideband and datalogging software to get things dialed in properly on a street tune. But then we're down the whole cost vs. HP discussion that every NA build thread gets clogged up with. Good point.

Re: vafc2 ?

SSCott912, I'm not trying to discourage you either. If you are not running nitrous and are N/A the rsx injectors will be overkill IMO. I'm not denying you can make a couple hp with a VAFC2; however you would have to go to a dyno shop to tune it. Messing with your air/fuel with no wideband can be detrimental to your engine and you may even lose power.

Case in point I street tuned my car with a wideband when I had my stage 2 cam to what felt good to me and was safe. The map I made yielded 117whp. After getting dyno tuned by a professional I made 124whp with a smoother powerband on the emangle.

WOAH WOAH, you didn't say anything about turbo. IF YOU ARE GOING TURBO; KEEP THE RSX INJECTORS. Sorry for the caps, I did not want to confuse you. I thought you were N/A. Yes, get the walbro 255lph fuel pump. It's not a necessity but will help for sure with a turbo setup. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: vafc2 ?

There are plenty of reputable dyno shops in Ohio fyi. They wont' be cheap but they are there. Yes, you will need to add lots of fuel but make sure you buy a wideband 02 sensor at least if you are street tuning. Your turbo will be adding air hence why its called forced induction. The vafc2 controls your fuel not your air and vtec. Same with SAFC2 just w/o vtec. I think you should read the turbo FAQ on the site before you dive into this. You will save yourself alot of headaches and pain in the future.

Re: vafc2 ?

1 ? what is the difference between a wideband o2 sensor and a narrow band? stock 04 civics are wide or narrow the reason i ask is i got an air/fuel gauge that is narrow band and i have been looking at my wireing skamatics to find which wire is the signal wire for that gauge i have backprobed all 4 lol and this wideband tuner tells me my air mixture is that correct if im running to rich or too lean and any kits u suggest? thanks

Re: vafc2 ?

Dude. Wideband reads a signal from 0-5V and narrowband reads from 0-1.2V (or 1.5 can't remember). Either way, you will not get accurate readings from a narrowband and you sure as hell can't tune reliably off one. The signal is, well, wider and is simply more accurately interpreted by a controller than a narrowband is. Don't bother hooking the narrowband A/F gauge up as they've been proven to play hell with your car's electrical system.

For a wideband, I'm running the PLX M200 that they have replaced with the D200. That's a good one. The AEM UEGO is another good one. Look at spending $300 on a good wideband "kit" (sensor, controller, display), but it's well worth it. It will tell you exactly what your AFRs are.
