We are not CARB legal. We would most likely not be at all on this car regardless. The closest we possibly could get to fit this status would be the EX models. The DX/LX have the stock catalytic converter coupled to the exhaust manifold, which we would have to alter or change to get the turbo into place. Cali mandates no aftermarket cat is legal on OBD2 vehicles, and you can not alter or change the cat, it's position etc if you want CARB status.

All us Californians only care about the carb legal sticker. Most smog techs here dont really care if you have a aftermarket cat or stock one, long as you have a cat. I know most turbo kits can probably pass the smog test, but they'll fail visual because of the lack of a carb legal sticker.
Thats the only reason i'm planning on gettin the greddy kit for my integ, its the only turbo out there that comes with a carb legal sticker.

Boiler, can't you total your car on a race track? I've seen video's on line where it's happened. What happens then, isn't your insurance out the window too? What about that video on you-tube of the kid drfting in a barking lot with a mint 240 and smashing his car on a curb, that looked like fun! Or the EVO "drifting" on a track and rolling like 10 times!

police in california can look up the carb reference numbers directly from the patrol car, so that won't work. So cars even have fax's built directly into the car so they can get warrants on the fly.

LOL do not try to buy any sticker the police are diks about that in cali. I recently got a modded exhaust ticket and had to go to a bar ref to get it certified. That place is very strict, but a motor swap is doable and smog passable/bar passable. The turbo kit is not. The only turbo kit for a 6thgen that I know of to pass ca carb laws in the edelbrock kit for 6th ex only. A note on canyon or hard road driving there is a time and place for quik driving. If it is clear(like most of ca mountain roads) then have a bit of fun just no triple digit speeds. Besides who here has not seen a couple of corners in their town and got a little speed bug around them. Not all of us have tracks we can use. We only have drag tracks close and that can be boring.
