K20/k24 automatic?
I did a search with no relevant results.
I want to do a k20/24 hybrid swap but I also want my girlfriend to be able to drive the car as well hence this topic.
I was wondering if I could use the 2wd k24 auto tranny instead of the manual for this swap? What complications would I see with this idea? Any help is appreciated since well, I'm serious about this.
If the k24 2wd auto tranny isn't an option, does something exist that will work with this swap? Would a RSX auto tranny with a levelten.com kit work well?
I bookmarked the k20/k24 diy but it's for a manual transmission.

I was a post about a standard rsx swap and the guy wanted to use an auto tranny with it. I was just curious if I have to use a k24 auto tranny for the 20/24 hybrid. I am starting to feel like this might not be worth it and I might as well go trade in the vic and buy something with prebuilt muscle to tune.

in all theory it will work. but fitmit wise, the k20/k24 takes alot of room as is it is. the k24 auto tranny will be bigger than the manual one. so you got to look into that.
I looked around at the g35 and the newer IS350 and buck for buck I can make my car faster and have much cooler gadgets. I am an electrician's apprentice so I think I'll have fun with the ICE.
Thanks for some relevant replies, I'll check into that fitment issue. I've heard that the k24 tranny is slightly larger so I hope no custom fabrication will be needed.

if you want to be automatic you cant use any type of k20/k24 hybrid cause that would require you to use kpro. also doing engine modifications is out of the question cause that would require kpro.
you can however could?? or should be able to use a straight k24 automatic motor from the accord.. its basically ALMOST the same swap as the k20/k24 manual swap but i cant directly point out what other things will need to be done other than the wiring on the k24 ecu is different than the k20 ecus..and you are going to have to use the k24 ecu... BUT.. if you do you would have to get the ecu reflashed at the dealer to bypass the immobolizer.. and dont expect high HP gains from the motor other than having a torquey motor in the car just because you decided to make it an automatic
Please dont do that.
Just teach her. Tell her how everybody in england drives stick, and it is really not that hard. Alot of it is just the mind set of the person learning. After a month or two she wont even notice it.
