Ill tell you straight up. I bought a TSI turbo kit, i thought it was the best thing that had ever happened, getting a full turbo kit for 1650. Then I did my research on turbos and found out that its not just plug and play and there is a science behind the whole thing. Also, tuning....anyone with a turbo kit will tell you about tuning...Its EXPENSIVE and they charge by the hour. Even at 60-70 an hour, thats bringing the price up really quick. Then theres the worry that if this is your daily driver, what are u gonna do if your car breaks? Then what about smog checks and emission checks, then maintenence. Ok ok you should see my point. Yea the glory of hearing that blow off valve go psssshhhh, the power underneath the peddle. But the thing is, the d17 will only take you so far and how far your willing to go, is it worth the struggle. In my case, 20 years old, dependent, student, restaurant server, girlfriend, I have other priorities and more important thngs than to live out that dream of reaching 200whp in my vic, I could graduate from college and by an SL55 mercedes. So thats my 2 cents take it or leave it. Good luck whatever you do.

Sell the civic and buy a WRX if you want reliable turbo! Haha everyone should buy a WRX.
