The 25 series (including the 8) are GREAT for quick spooling applications, such as autocross and small output motors, where the emphasis is more on response than top end power. moving up the ladder you can end up with the t3 and hybrid series, where there is a good balance of absolute power and response. This is generally reguarded as one of the greatest street turbos for lower output engines, for the mere fact that it will build boost low and give you that still satisfying "knockout" punch. Then you can go out and buy yourself a 70 series (88's arn't true 88s) and drive your Supra on the highway at 1000mph and flip over and blow up then roll over some more. So, to the man who said T25's are cheap. Please

+1 rep to you.
I have t25 and I love it for quick spool, good TQ down low and quick response in traffic.

And if you try to put a 70 series on a d17 your pretty much retarted unless you have some major upgrades done internally, because it will take forever to spool on it, which means say good but to any low end and probably 1st-3rd gears as well cause you won't go anywhere until 4th when you can get enough load.
it sounds like it's a good kit for mountain passes and curvy backroads. i just might have to pick one up. if i opted for no fuel option and bought rsx injectors, i would only have to pay for an install and dynotime. could that all be done for around $3000?

It should be the same. The footprints are the same for 25's as 8's. I couldent imagine them making them differnt (for cost reasons).
