TSI problems (newbie)
Right, right. It is the MAP black box. However, is there a good place to mount it under the hood that you know of? Also, you would have to remove the MAP clip and actually splice the 5 wires in, correct?
Alright, it's a new day and I'm going to try this again. On my ignition, does anyone know if I will have problems wiring because of my Viper alarm? Also, on the MAP black box, I have to get rid of the clip on the actual MAP and splice in the wires, correct? On day 4 of this installation, I'm getting a little tired of dealing with it.
I will make sure that the DIY I make for it is flawless so nobody else has to deal with this crap.

SHouldnt have any probs with the alarm.
You will need to keep the clip, but tap into the wires, than plug it back in.
Make sure everything is SOLDERED! You WILL have problems eventually if they arent soldered.
A lot of people have problems installing the kit. BUt you know how many people have installed it in 3 days or less?? At least 5 or 6, and there arent too many members on here boosted. I installed mine Between Fri-Sun morning. Took us about 10-16 hours each time we worked on it, and had 3 people (including me). It takes love and patience, and LOTS of seraching on the net while you install. It will come together and you will love it. You will make awesome power. I was hanging with a 290hp g35 coupe on the freeway last night. At 9psi, we were pretty damn even. You will love the kit, but once you come to tuning. Your not gonna be happy. Either get it tuned professionally ASAP!!!!!, or try it yourself and **** yourself off.
You can get settings from other members on this site, but they wont work right for your car/altitude/temp/etc.

No, dont cut off the MAP plug!
You just add 3rd wire to the 5V and 3rd wire to groung on the MAF plug.
The 3rd wire from the maf, witch is MAF signal, to be altered with black box, so you cut it the wire use one end of it, signal in, to hook up to black box and the other one, signal out .....And I think green wire on the black box not to be used, just isolate it from other wires. This shoud do it. It actualy straight forwars - it explains well in the TSI instructions (only one of few things that are there)

I have your solution:
1) Take kit, find nearest trash can, and toss it in.
2) Go on www.7thgencivic.com and look at used SF kits, search about them, and laugh when you read about their company.
3) Go to www.dezod.com and click on the 7thgencivic.com link.
4) Purchase Dezods kit and smile when the UPS man comes.

TSI might be tight fit, but at the end its like tights on the athlette.
P.S. Whoever decides to toss their TSI into garbage, let all 7thgens know about it, I it should be fan to watch...u-huu, u-hu-hu...u-hu, u-hu-hu...people do stupid things!

no boost
Hey,
I have everything hooked up correctly on my TSI kit (finally). I get accurate readings on my Control unit inside the car (for RPM, etc.) However, the boost never gets up past 00 PSI. It always has the vacuum of like -17hG and that goes up to -01hG and then finally to 00 PSI, but never increases. Therefore, I think I'm not boosting at all.
Any suggestions on what to try? I have looked and everything seems to be hooked up perfectly. Is there a way to turn up the boost?

Id egnine not under load (eg driving) then you wont get no boost! So start driving and see what happened, but be careful and wach boost gauge, most likely you will get very high PSI very quickly, I was getting about 12-13 psi before I adjusted wastegate, now I'm not getting past 8.
So how does it drive?

I need to readjust my wastegate. Did you just open yours all the way, or alittle more than it was? Im only hitting 7psi at anywhere from half to 5/6 throttle, than it reaches up to 10. No more than 10 though.
How do you adjust the amount of boost? Right now, at full throttle, I'm only hitting 05 psi. I would like to get to 06 or 07 psi. I can't figure out how to get it to boost higher. From what I've heard, it has something to do with turning the actuator arm on the wastegate, but I can't seem to figure out how.
Also, I played with some settings on the ICU and I don't think that was a good idea, because my EGT gauge keeps reading around 800 degrees C at full throttle. I don't know what I did, but what settings would you recommend for my car?
Thanks a lot.
Zach

Check for boost leaks and if you have a leack that will drop your boost preassure.
Where you able to adjust WG rod to turn boost down?
Its easy, there is a little pin (C clip) that holds the rod and WG flapper, so unpin the pin
and turn in the rod for more boost ot un turn the pin for higher boost.
As far as exhaust gas temp I dont know,
To get started with TSI settings you need to use the ones of ExternalBlueVic (something of this sort). To find em is tricky, but possible. Here is how:
You need to look for an PDF attachment in one of his posts. I think topic was about TSI issues and problems. I wont write'em takes to much time, plus I dont have them with me. If you spend 5-10 mins you will definately find the PDF attachment.
With those settings car shold be able to drive and idle nicely. If not then, upgrade map black box to missing link. Thats waaaay better!
Good luck!
