Spark Plug Selection For Turbo
hey guys, turbocharged here, and i'm currently running the denso 5310. is this model good? cause i had a cylinder misfire code come up and i dunno if one of my plugs are gone or not, pulled them out and they all look fine, could it be my coils? should i buy the same pair of spark plugs or is there a colder plug that denso makes that you guys recommend? gonna switch my coils with a 01 civic lx later to see if that is the problem and reset the CEL. also going for compression test later to see if everything is ok, anyone have these problems? TIA.
Actually a couple of use have had this problem Get your car tuned that usually fixes everything check the gap. Try the coldest plugs and move your way up because the coldest ones might be too cold!
Try using a del sol vtec plug. The tuner yesterday told me to use those instead of the iridium plugs. Or Go one step colder than the iridium ik20 plugs. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE GAP! I had cylinder misfire codes because of the gap.

get autolite AR-3934 or AR-3932
Those are 2 and 3 steps colder (respectively)
They are a copper race plug used very extensively buy the domestic race crowd. They work very well on the civics. Set the gap at .030" to .032" and you should have no problem.

Bringing from the dead, but:
I dont underdtand why regular factory specs plugs wont work with turbo.
http://www.densoiridium.com/find_par...&action=Search
follow the link, denso recomends IK20 for the stock 03 Civic. Is not it factory spec NGK that are in the car at the begining?
Factory NGK have spec at ZFR6F-11 with gap og .044 (NGK website)
So both sparks concider to be even, as far as application, where variation of slight persormance advantage on Denso due to technology involved.
So I think colder NGK ZFR4F should be fine for turbo where colder plug reqired.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
