Question puttin' a kit together.

I'm thinking about putting my own turbo kit together and I know some of what I need to get my hands on. Here's my checklist....please add to it, because I know I don't have everything I need in mind, since I'm not the biggest gearhead around (but ****...i'm trying to learn)

1. Turbo (going with t25)
2. Exhaust manifold (HKS with t25 flange)
3. Intercooler (more than likely an SMIC from a TT Supra)
4. Lager injectors (should 310cc do the job?)
5. Larger Fuel Pump/Rail
6. Intercooler piping ( custom )
7. Highflow Cat ( random technologies)
8. Apex Super AFC (or something else to manage air/fuel and boost)
9. Oil feed lines

I drive an EX with 2.5inch exhaust should that be big enough behind a turbo?

well thanks in advance.

Go to Dezod.com and check out the list of items in their kit and you should get an idea of what you need.

There is no custom rail for our cars yet.

If install a bigger fuel pump, then you will need to convert to a return fuel set-up since our cars are returnless.

Other things needed:

Vaccuum hoses
Fittings for oil feed and return
couplers
bov
downpipe
gaskets for turbo flange and exhaust manifold
plastic Tee's for vaccum hoses or a golden eagle vaccuum manifold
gauges
clamps for pipes
high temp silicone for oil pan

prolly forgot some stuff.....

Do the larger injectors bolt directly on to our cars? If so, will our ECU adjust to them? Like if I wanted to boost what would I do for fuel? Just get bigger injecters and a VAFC or Emanage?

Gentelmen,
First of all, thank you for your feedback. Here's some more stuff, either answers to some of yoru post, or just more questions.
-I've seen STR fuel rails out there for us.

-The injectors would prolly have to be machined to the rail.

-Do i have to have a BOV? i thought the internal wastegate in the manifold would take care of the boost during shifts....or am i wrong.

-I was aware that our cars are run returnless fuel system...and that sucks.

-What are the pros and cons of Greddy's Emanagae vs. Apexi's Super AFC II?

-As i recall the STR fuel rail dont fit the D17 as its advertised

-HAVE to get a BoV? No but its highly recommended, and no a wastegate regulates how much boost, and the Bov releases pressure in the charge pipe to reduce back pressure against the turbine

- yes they are returnless and can be modded to return style

- E-manage has the ability to adjust timing, AFC dont is the big difference

jwcardy is on a distinguished road
you will have no need to upgrade the fuel rail....there are people on here making over 200whp and still using the factory fuel rail...i would though, reccommend that you convert your fuel system to a return style, and stick some rsx-s injectors in there..they will fit, trust me, many have done it...you will definately need a Blow off valve...the emanange is way better than the safc2...with the emanage, you can control you fuel to a larger extent, ignition timing, and you have the option on purchasing the pressure sensor and harness...plus the the support tool is really cool to use on your laptop....

i will think of some more crap to tell you later

The intercooler woulden't include piping, it's just a custom HKS core, fits right inside the stock bumper hole. I'll link you to the thread Sorry to ***** guys.
