tsi sucks

You'll need a custom manifold made for the DSM t25.

Call dezod and see what he can do.

max rev makes one too. and it has gotten good ratings. but its for the t3/t04E. it looks the same as the one by dezod, but the max rev makes that dezod up top look like poopy. the max rev is all shinny and polished - not chrome.

Modern chrome won't last on a turbo header.

yes the maxrev one will fit BUT if you use anything liek the tail wastegate the 38mm i think will rub on the hood of your car and you cant even put the nipples for the air fitting on cause then you cant even shut the hood and IT IS NOT CHROME all of maxrev's stuff at the base price's are not finished, nothing comes polished or chromed and on top of that when you bolt maxrevs mani on the dump tube ends up sticking in the fan and the turbo housing rests on the fan housing which on top of all that maxrev doesnt make that mani, reason i know this is cause i ordered a kit and nothing fit at all nothing was finished you could'nt bolt the downpipe on cause the bend of it would'nt allow u to put the bolt in, and the previous stuff and the manifold is from tiawan, it plainly states that on it when you get it, you have to hack up the bumper for the intercooler a brake line is in the way for the charge piping and nothing is to fit. they have been sending the wrong hardware out and it took them more than a month to get me my kit and when i got it and found out nothing work i sent it back and got a tsi which is ALOT better went on so easy comes with alot of stuff and when i sent it back to get a refund over a month ago i still have'nt got them to credit my card, they never will answer the phones and they are hard as hell to get ahold of, i would most likely not do business with them agian

oh, and I was just talking about the manifold, not the whole kit.

Damn, mine works fine. I had no probs with it at all. it bolted right on. I had to trim that black stuff out of the bumper, but that is no biggie. I think it looks better like that. and I have some dual flex-a-lite fans so I have lots of space between the turbo and fans & dump tube and fans. sorry yours didn't work out well cause mine is great and all shinny

Oh i also forgot about one thing, that kit is and was designed for a carb emissions vehicle and not federal so the downpipe wont work right unless they have fixed that and it doesnt come with fuel stuff they did send me a fitting for a steel oil pan and not aluminium, umm comes with a big turbo that may or may not be the best for our cars or setup that whoever is going for w/o a built engine, oh ya the kit does not come with a dump tube in the base kit its extra and that is just the tube which will end up in your fans and it dumps to atmosphere and it was designed off a civic with a close coupled cat which also has all the a/c lines tucked away which a federal does not, all in all i would'nt recomend the kit for a street car or definatly not a bolt on at all and i would only use that kit for a big project and built engine, otherwise i would get the tsi kit which basically bolted right on.

Apparrently since going thru this with me they have been working on the kit and modifieing the kit to work better on a federal, but it will def not be a bolt on kit, its about a week long project at a shop.

Oh here is a pic of the kit out of the box with the optional dump tube.

Im sorry you had all the problems with this kit. I recieved one of the FIRST kits that maxrev ever made. The only problem that this kit has is that the external wg does hit the hood, and the dump tube does waste into the atmostphere. I plan to get the external wg turned side ways at a 90 degree angel and route the extwg dp to the turbo downpipe. It states on their website that this kit is NOT street leagal. This kit also came with the MF2 injector controller, witch i have had NO problem with at all once i figured out how to work it. 183whp/175 lbs tq on 7psi, go figure

the obx turbo manifolds crack a lot. they're good for an N/A motor, but not turbo. I had an N/A OBX header and it worked great. not probs. and yes, by looking at those pics, they have changed the kit a little bit. my wastegate doesn't hit the hood, and the charge pipes are diff. too. I like the way the dump tube sounds when the wastegate opens...sounds like a jet kinda...its pimp. It only took me to about 4hrs to install it by myself. was pretty easy. the hardest part was shoving the bumper back on....lol

Good info.

Im trying to build a cheap turbo (under 1500 bucks) so I have been checking out stuff on ebay. Theirs a SUPER XS Power T3 Turbo Brand New .42 .48 for $199 bucks! I know you get what you pay for but man If I could get a turbo and manifold for under 500bucks Im half way home.

The downside for me is I dont know jack crap about real world turbo stuff. I have read all the post on this site (excellent stuff) but its scary trying to buy this stuff and make sure it will work.

I like the look of the HKS manifold (very clean) but I think it will only work with T25's.

yeah, my turbo wouldn't work on the HKS. it would hit the fans or the that support bar down the middle. but it does look clean.

Doesnt seem like a lot of good options available. I really hate to spend 400+ but I guess thats the best choice.

I did some searches for the OBX manifold and man their are some major problems with that crap.

Oh well so much for cheap solutions.

I hope more stuff comes out. Im so tired of seeing all this stuff for the older civic's and only 1 or 2 decent kits for ours.

Its been about a year since I was last checking out this board and at that time SF turbo's seemed to be the bomb! I come back and things have changed alot.

I guess their is always the electric turbo!! Just kidding ( - :

I was just wondering how long it lasted for some of the guys that had it before. Its so hard to believe someone would make something that bad.

So in terms of best product (for the price) and best under hood fit who do you guys say go with?

Im taking OBX of the list for obvious reasons and the HKS for bad turbo placement.
