boost problem?

My wastegate is rated at .4bar (6psi). Ever since i've had the turbo kit, i've always only boosted 6lbs and occasionally peaked at 7 for only a sec. Well, now, i peak at 7, and sustain 7psi!! Whats up with that? Is the wastegate actuator going bad? I'll get some pics of the gauges tomorrow. I know the gauges aren't wrong, becuase i not only have a mechanical boost gauge, but an electrical boost guage as well (on TSI's ICU) and they both read 7psi, well the mechanical one looks more like 8, but i know that has to be off.

18inchpride is an unknown quantity at this point
would it be your spring? actuator sounds like the problem! how hard is that to replace! try adjusting for lower boost and see what your reading is

its used, 10k miles on it when bought. Well, an extra psi isn't so bad, but if it gets worse i'll replace it. There isn't anywere on it that i can play with the spring.

External does own me

True, but the kit was in superior shape for a killer price!!! $1900 w/ the manifold already shaved and fitted vs $3000 for a new kit.
