Hating on T3/T4 turbos

4 of my friends have told me, "Your soo stupid, a T3/T4 doesnt spool till 6,000 rpm... your wasting ur time" There starting to get me really mad because ive read soo much about it on this website, that it fully spools at like 3,500-4,000 rpm. (Thats true right?).. it just gets me mad when people under estimate a civic.. Yeah its 127 hp.. about 100 to the wheels, But im loving my SHORT *** GEAR RATIOS... ive beat 3 of emm so far, just hope to beat the 4th(RSX-S) with my turbo that im planing to get

You need to be a bit more specific than T3/T4. There are about this many combinations of that particular turbo:

1,123,345,348,325

So, depending on wheel and housing combinations, yes, it could spool as late as 6,000rpm.

3500rpm on a log manifold.
More pressure is hold on a log manifold thus spoling quicker.
And yes they are many combinations of t/3-4
Housing and wheel makes for differnt set ups.

i dont hate on them, i just think they're "unneccessary" for the daily driven SOHC D17. Yes, it'll spool before 6000rpm(depending on the one you buy), but people always think "bigger=better" which isnt true, theres no need in wasting money on a huge snail shell that you're riding WOT and still not getting its full potential. ****, id probably use a basic *** T25 before a T3/T4, i like my low end torque..something honda doesnt provide us n/a.

i agree, the t25 should be plenty to power a d17, a t3/t4 may do the job easier, but also probably slower and the same time, cost more

maybe it's just me, but my mr2 with the stock turbo at 14psi fully spooled up at 3000rpm, the new t3/t4 i have now doesn't come till 3300-3500, and it gets mildly annoying...

Depends upon what combo of hybrid turbo your using, your budget, your goal and what the car will be used for. Each person has to answer this for themselves prior to bashing a particular set-up.

i'm not a Turbo Guru like most of the guys here, but T25's doesn't push any horses after 6k RPM IMO a T28BB sounds about right for lower and higher RPM's... but I got a T3/4, and yes lower RPM sucks, but when I get it spoolin' on 2nd and 3rd gear then I'm haulin...
