Turbo Auto Q's

Oks here's some questions that have bothered me for a while and whated to know what gives...

1) How come my car wont boost when in neutral?

2) What hapens to the pressure when the car shifts gear? (cuz i see that it looses that pressure, bu the BOV does not make a sound)

3) Is is true that a bigger downpipe and exhaust could help spool up? (Not necesarily auto related)

Thanks.....

1) Im not sure about you, but I can hear a squeel from mine in neutral. The reason it wont boost fully is because their isnt enough load on the engine? I'm not really sure, thats just what I heard.

2) When I shift, I can hear the BOV go off. I don't really know what you're talking about.

3) I have a bigger downpipe and exhaust with a T3 Super 60 and I'm fully spooled at about 4k. I dont know if that answers your question, just some info to work with.

1) car needs to be under a load to make boost

2) don't have a auto

3) a bigger downpipe/exhaust allows the turbine on the exhaust side to "breathe" better allowing it to spool up faster.

well i fully spool up at like 3500 on a t3 super 60, and ok so i now know it has to be under load, but what worries me is that it does not make a sound when my car shifts....

If you really want to hear it let go of the gas as soon as it shifts and get back on it really fast. I think that will help you out with that problem

Ugh, you guys are letting the auto shift itself when boosting? Guh, the sounds my car made after the first time I did that...never again.

When I'm making the turbo scream, I go WOT until about 6600 RPM, then I let off the gas so the car shifts. If you drive this way. you'll save your tranny some and hear the BOV make the sweet sound.
