everyone has their own opinion cause of their driving habits. if i had the money, i would personally go with the supercharger since its more "dailydriver like" and im no hardcore racer.

what i dunt understand about superchargers is when u have a turbo, its spinning at about "22,000 rpm" as i hear, supercharger is connected to the belts on the engine, what part spins anywhere near that fast?
I'm not a fan of superchargers either.. Although I do admit that they both have their pros and cons. I would just rather have a turbo for having an easier accessability (sp?) to boost control..

I gotta supercharger on my car. Its not a civic but I use to have a nice one in my opinion. I tried the gude kit and only gained 20whp so I was at 145whp, I did a 50shot of nitrous with the stock head and got 53whp and 40wtq it was fun but to addicting and ended up funkin up the valves, and traded that for my svt focus.
I started out at 145whp and 135wtq a little low for the avg svtf . Now I have 200whp and 165wtq. This is with about $4200 in power upgrades including a Jackson Racing supercharger custom tune, borla catback, offroad pipe. I am running 8lbs of boost with no cooling at the time of the numbers above. I am gonna be running some meth injection come this weekend so go ahead and add about 14whp, 12wtq to the above numbers.
Their are turbo chargers and supercharges out for all the focus right now including JRSC, Vortech, aerocharger, focus-power....etc The reason I went with the jackson is for a couple of reasons. 1-cheap, only $2450 for the charger and $120 for the boost upgrade. 2-driveablity, I have 160wtq at 2200rpms so its got some grunt for a 2600lb car (gutted). 3-maintance, I don't have to worry about oil lines leaking, intake pipes coming apart, intercooler getting dirty or damaged...etc.
I have owned a turbo charged mustang, a nitrous fed civic, a all motor civic and a supercharged focus and I know you can make alot of power with turbos now but for me and being a daily driver there is nothing better than a supercharger.

i vote supercharger, i think vortech or jackson is coming out with one for our vics. they already have them out for the civic si's (K20's). The only reason i say supercharger is that its constant 'boost'. thers no lag at all and will cover the entire powerband. you just need a better cooling system when getting a supercharger. thats just me. i'm probably gonna go turbo anyways because its more efficient AND they dont make them for the D17. thats my 2cents
