*Boosted rev ?*
I thought about something while i was at work today. Any boosted car you can think of, you imagine yourself at a light or whatnot reving and then pshhhhh. Well, my car dosen't build boost (T25) just reving, so i don't get a pshhh, more of a high pitched whooosh. Been thinking about it alot, then thought: Could it be because my d17a2 has high compression pistons? If so, when i upgrade to forged lower compression pistons, i should be able to build boost reving?
if i rev my car all the red to redline i get a peeeeeeewwwwww, and i have a t3/4
you gotta think tho we only have 1.7leters, and im only putting out 6lbs
when you rev there is no LOAD PRESSURE beeing made, thats why the bov sound isnt that great, im not sure if the turbo size has anything to do with it
just my .0000000003

now if you wanna let the bov off and do it F&F style, push the brake down, barely let your foot off the clutch, rev and release = bov.

Not entirely true. They are less prone to detonation than higher compression when under high boost.
A 10:1 w/ 10psi, properly tuned, will make more power than an 8:1 w/ 10psi, properly tuned. However, you have a margin of safety with the 8:1 that you don't have with the 10:1, however great that may be.
