Emanage Communication Problem
Emanage Communication Problem
Ok so I have gone thru 3 different USB to serial adapters and none have worked. Im not sure if it's me or what. I have only hooked up the power and ground to the emanage.Shouldn't it be saying that the system is online when I connect to my laptop and open the emenage support tool. All it says is Communication is off line do I want tot continue.
I've tried a Radio shack connector,Belkins, Ioe Gear and none so far. Could I need to connect more of the wiring so that there is data to transmit?

are you using the usb to serial cable from the support tool or just one you picked up at a store? it will only work witht he one from the support tool because greddy made it so that the cable scrambles the information and it can only be read with their cable.
if that is not the problem, you may want to upgrading to the latest firmware for the e-manage

is the 9 pin adapter on the support tool a male or female connection? i am just wondering because my laptop has a male 9 pin adapter port that would connect to the support tool if the 9 pin on there was female. i need to know so i can decide if i need a serial to usb adapter or not.
