im just wondering if the k20 from the civic SI or base RSX is worth swapping into the civic? i currently have an LX auto coupe and was just curious about doing a manual k20a3 swap into it. how much cheaper is it then the k20a2? and is it worth the money for the power ud get?

Screw it and go with a k20a2. Thats what I did. i started with Auto EX.

yeah but the k20a2 is like 6000. i was hoping the k20a3 would be cheaper. im not looking to run amazingly quicky times, but just to enjoy the drive more and maybe get into a few races that i actually win . so im just wondering how much itd cost comparitevly to buffing up my tranny and turboing the d17.

cost of swap to get it into 14's > cost to get D17Ax into 14's

is this car a daily driver? can you afford to have the car down at random periods while it's being repaired? do you do your own repairs? there's a lot to consider.

^ well seeing as i dont even know how much a k20a3 swap costs cant say i have considered it lol. if someone could answer my question of how much a k20a3 swap into our cars costs, itd give me a much better perspective on things.

yeah but neither of em really answers my question of exactly how much it costs to do a k20a3 swap into a 7th gen civic. im looking for someone who has actually already done it and can give me the total price, not a rough estimate.

Price range is around 4grand for the swap into the car. for a k20a3.

K20a2 could be about 5 grand if you find the motor tranny ecu for cheaper than 4g.

if you looking for price range then its gonna be tough cause it can range drastically.. look at me for example.. i got a k20a3 for $500... someone else might get it for 1000... i know someone that paid $4000 for a k20a3 complete swap here in my area.. but at the same time i also know someone that paid $8000 for a type R swap...but there are some people on here that have done complete swaps as low as 2000... so ur gonna have a huge price range.. it just depends on how much ur local shops in ur area will charge for the swap and also on how cheap.. or expensive you can get the motor

Most K20a2's run for $2500 with motor, tranny, ecu and harnesses, if I'm not mistaken.

i think we've got the engine pricing covered here. now how much do the extra parts cost that are listed on hasport's sites (link) (or do you know anyone else who develops a kit for this swap?)? and how much should someone be expecting to pay for labor?

Man the hell with dat its just really expensive. I guess its fine if your car is paid off and all and you get a nearly new engine to install in your car..
