Exclamation Are Denso Iridium's pre-gapped?

Went into auto zone today to get my last piece for my turbo setup--> Denso iridium spark plugs. Guy asks for car model, year, etc. Then gets a product # and goes in the back and comes back with the plugs for my car. After i got home....i got to thinking.... Are these plugs already pre-gapped?? It dosen't say anything on the box, and i forgot to ask the sales dude. I'm worried to put them in now cuz if they aren't then i don't want to fudge up anything. So yeah, some help here plz!

You can gap them if you wanted, just dont use a regular plug gapping tool. Hammer the tip down gently, or use a punch and hammer to expand the gap.

I personally always double check the gap anyways because I've noticed before on more than one occassion that the pre-gap is not always "pre-gapped"

coppers are actually really good plugs. A lot of DSM owners run copper. I know my friend does in his evo-turbo powered GSX.

Actually nope

If I could afford them, i'd get the NGK Platinum v groove ones, as they are regarded as best

as for the Iridiums...i've not seen any turbo nissan or dsm owners who liked them...but thats on you

For the price of vgrooves you can't beat it!

I've never bought a set so I wouldnt know personally, but I would think that if the electrode can break on them that easily they must be shitty.

well, the electrode is strong but supposedly what supports it isn't (the iridium part sticks out) oh, and the guy who recommended platinums....thats the first i have heard but it may be true. i know plats with n2o is bad (reaction between platinum and n2o, plug tip falls into chamber) but as for turbo... idk.

Don't buy platinum for boost, plain and simple.

The Denso Iridiums can be gapped, but you need to be careful. I must have gone through about 10 sets on my Civic, and I did gap a couple, I've broken one plug before because I was fixing an error with the plug with a standard spark plug gap tool.

.041-.044 is fine for lower boost (up to about 8).

I'd recommend around .032-.038 for alcohol injection and high boost conditions where there's more fuel.

I disagree 100 percent

Factory Nissan Turbo cars have platinum plugs...and it's suggested by all serious nissan and rotary boosters that I have ever talked too...in fact I get alot of **** by using the cheap coppers and they all use the plattys

as for the n2O...i can't speak of that first hand - i don't screw around with throttle in a bottle...boost only

??? maybe for you're engines high compression it's not good, but i couldn't see it effecting it at all???

I second that thankyou. I have unsed others and none compare. The fact that they take less power to ignite is also a great part of them. Not sure out ngk though. I am staying with the denso's. IK22 for daily and IK 24 for the track.
