Best upgrade for a T3?

Hi, the turbo that came with my SF kit (T3 super 60) is still suffering from the oil problem

I was thinking in case if I get myself another turbo, what are the possible choices, that would bolt on directly to the current setup (manifold & downpipe) ??? If I am spending money I can spend a lil extra to get something better.

In my little research I came across the Garrett GT-30R. Would this be a direct replacement for a T3? Any other suggestion? Thankx

What do you have to say about this:

Garrett GT30R Dual Ball-Bearing Turbos

Supports up to 500 hp! Dual ball bearings allow for higher efficiency and much faster spool up. Compressor: 76.2 mm, 56 Trim, 0.60 A/R. T3 style turbine. An excellent high-power bolt-on upgrade for any T3 turbo. More power and less lag at a higher efficiency than a T3/T4 hybrid turbo.

well yea but in general a t3/t4 hybrid is not going to spool as fast as a t25BB or a KKK03 even though no one is their right mind is going to ever buy a KKK03 for a honda...i dont even think it would fit, but yea your right its all relevant on the application

TRUE! But a hair dryer T25BB @ 8 PSI is not going to put out nearly the power a T3/T04 E would on 8 PSI.

lol yup.....thats the thing with turbos....do you want power at a constant stream even though it wont be that powerful or do you want a rush of peak power....again depends on the application, on the street i would want a t25BB but on a high speed track thats when that hybrid comes in super handy

All depends on where you want power band placed. That T25 power maxs out at circa 4000 RPMS.....The T3/T04 will begin power there....Not to mention 95% of your honda racing is done at RPMS higher than 4000 RPMS.....we all know hondas can't move from a dig..............in comparison to say a 5.0 Stang.

P.S.-I am building a TT 5.0 Carb'd Mustang in Spring. I am excited.

TOYOTA engines are not that bad..............My mother has had a Camry for 8 almost 9 years and I used to BEAT on that thing when I was growing up. I used to beg her to borrow it so my buddy Sean and I could go racing in it when we were 16-17. Good times back then............Life was so simple.

I also know many of people that have had older Toyotas and for 120-150K miles......No major problems.

That's RAW Torque at it's finest. I love that feeling. Dumping the clutch at 3K and getting the *** end to kick out....tires spinning....pushed back into the seat........you feel it in the floor boards.........ahh man do I miss power like that.

Agreed. However, 8psi is 8psi. Doesn't matter what turbo its coming from.

Its all about efficiency.

Couldn't be more wrong. A bigger turbo presses MORE air into the engine at 8psi. A smaller turbo will press less air into the engine at 8psi.

Ok, lets look at this from a mathematical standpoint.

Airflow through an engine takes no note of turbo size. Only pressure.

Airflow rate=(CID*RPM*.5*Ev)/1728

Say we have a 2.0L engine. 122 Cubic inches.

122*5000*.5*(say 80% effieciency)/1728=141CFM.

Say we are running one bar of boost.

Airflow rate = pressure ratio * NA cfm

2.0*141=282CFM under 1 bar of boost.

Where in there is what size turbo to determine what "pushes" the air through? It doesn't "push" it simply creates pressure in the manifold.
