How about a nice NA setup
So what do you think. Since i now know that i cant use my v2 with any turbo kits and im not a fan of having to run meth in order to keep things cool and safe(after some searching and reading), i was think about doing a NA setup. Would the intake, header and catback be applicable in this case. Mind you I really dont care how much power i get, i just want to screw around with my car, possibly get some power out of it, but at the same time learn.
BTW: since we dont have a NA forum feel free to move this to where ever its suppose to be, but i figure induction is induction.

Bolt ons yeild poor gains. If you don't care about power then I recommend you do suspension, body, and I.C.E. upgrades! If you wanna go N/A then you need k20. But of course that's if you want gains in hp and you said you don't care
hey bud...save ur money. Even with a turbo your gonna spend a **** load of money for what...200-250 whp? Then what? You can only get so much with our cars after a point they bust open. Buy an evo or wrx and spend the same amout that you would have on a civic and ya know what you'll have a killer 4wd car. I'm learning this now after I spent so much to get more power and it aint all that its cracked up to be. Civic are built for gas milage....evo's, wrx are power platforms, a k20 with engine mods is the next gen DOHC which we all know loved boost......ahemmm B18, H22...etc.....
lets say money is not an option and u got a whole bunch of shops backing u with free parts and custom parts to be the first to completely build an all motor D17... name all the parts u would change out and what gains do u think u can get the most from a D17 N/A... i would call this the D17 challenge if anyones up for it

I have thought about it for awhile now. I think if you bore it to a 1.9 or a 2.0, change the compression, pistons, rods, cam, springs, retainers, full port and polish with 5 angle valve job, good intake/exhaust manifolds, good exhaust/intake, get rid of AC/PS, good pulley, I think you could get 200 maybe a little more. You would even gain some torque. However, it might cost like 10k just to get that setup. Just a theory....
a friend of mine was just telling me today about a shop in Michigan that has a 240whp NA 1.7 for a civic. It is called payne technology, but I can't find it on the net. I am going to ask him again about it tommorrow.
a good IHE setup should get atleast 15-20whp not 3-4

my friend said the place is called payne technology, but I can't find it on the web. I will find out, but he is certain that they have NA 1.7 that will make 240whp I was thinking of boosting, but depending on the price I may get the engine.

I got almost no hp from port and polish head.
K&N fipk intake gives the most at 4.6whp peak, but you lose torque.
Header and open exhaust will also give 5-10 whp, but again low end will suffer.
Bored out TB = power loss without turbo.
tuning all the mods with vafc = maybe 5-10whp
So on a manual trans and $2000+ later, you'll maybe have a 125whp civic. If you got auto trans, forget it.

the only way is through dyno then you need to know where you started. I have seen a few dyno charts of civics with IHE most gain 15-20 20 is the most that I have seen. I personally don't wish to waste the $ to get it dynoed
