powdercoat intercooler

i was at a local shop and i saw that one of the mechanic's had powdercoated his whole motor gunmetal. he just taped off all the open ends and did it. it looks awsome so later that day i was wondering. can u do that to an intercooler ?? any thoughts on how it would look

The idea of paint on intercoolers is that you are hindering it's cooloing capabilities.

If you anodize it it will look sick and you'll still have a nice efficiency. One member found this stuff where the intercooler looks somewhat like gunmetal, but it kept all it's efficiency.

yea i meant to anodize it ... a buddy said that if i powdercoat or paint it the air wont flow efficient. it was just a thought my car is basically a gunmetal theme. so a gunmetal intercooler with some piping i thought would be cool. just my 2 cents thou
