Sf turbo kit help

Ok I bought my sf turbo kit from steve, and have noticed alot of screw ups sf did while making the turbo kit that kinda makes me wounder if i should even install it. First off if you look at the turbo everything seems fine on the out side, but when i took the whole turbo apart, sf tapped the holes to deep going through the walls of the turbo allowing metal shaving to fall inside the turbo. ALso when i went to clean the inside the turbo along with the metal shaving were 2 small pieces of wood that I have no idea why these would even be in there. 2nd sf left 2 bolts missing on the air (not exhaust) turbo side that would make the turbo impossible to create any boost. The 3rd problem that I found was that there was no gasket between the header and the exhaust turbo housing, and also between the down pipe and turbo housing. Sf wont return any of my calls now, so im forced to buy parts on my own now. I have found most of the gaskets that I need but wanted to ask if any sf turbo owner knew if there is sopost to be a gasket between the turbo housing and the down pipe as seen in the picture below.

Let me know

Jeff

There is a gasket for that but if you use high-temp gasket maker it works fine, much cheaper too.

I was under the impression that the turbo gets too hot even for the "high temp" gasket maker. I could be wrong though but do it right and get the actual gaskets.

u are correct son

the high-temp RTV won't stand the temps that exhaust will create.

btw.........i had to order a oil return flange gasket and a T3 inlet gasket where the turbo and mani bolt up.

Another solution would be "Grafoil" gasket material. It is essentiallly a carbon based (graphite) aluminum gasket material that is high temp. Its expensive, but it will work.
