steps before turbo

hey guys whats up, i have an 03 civic ex AT with just exhaust and CAI and well im thinking about turbo but i wanted to know if there are any modifications needed to be done first before you can turbo? can you turbo stock? and one more thing, what kinda maintenance is required once you have turbo your car? now i dont know too much about cars but i am learning a lot, mainly from this site so thanks guys, and well i just wanted to know if turbo would be for the more advanced driver. thats not to say that i dont know squat but im just be cautious about what i do

You can defintely turbo stock. Go ahead and search the site, almost everyone who is boosted is running stock internals including myself. As for maintenance, I usually check the oil levels more often but I still change the oil every 3k. Other than that you should defintely invest in some quality gauges to monitor your setup. I recommend DEFI, they make some killer gauges. Check into tranny coolers and maybe even a torque converter.

does my car being an automatic make any difference? have you heard of anybody boosting an auto and what kinda of gains did it have? thanks guys for all the help

There have been quite a few automatics boosted with no major problems.

Pump, injectors,fuel mgmnt?

yeah man, just search this thread and you will find every turbo info you could possible want...it has been talked to death here....you would find you answers quicker by searching...i am not tryin to be a but and tell you to search i just think that you might find your answers faster...and in a lot more detail
