K24 Swap Comments and Questions

The K24 swap is a great idea for the 01+ civic but there are just too many questions unanswered to begin gathering parts and accesories for this swap.

The long block motor is said to go for 400 to 600 which is fairly cheap for an engine. Also the tranny suggested most for this particular swap is from the 02+ SI. which can be found in junk yards from 600 to 900.

An overall overhead cost for the engine and tranny for around 1500
which is drastically cheaper than the only other swap choice for our civics using the K20a2 from an rsx with an overall cost of about 6000.

One of my main concerns for this swap is the E.C.U and the engine head. I would assume since using the SI tranny no other E.C.U could be used other than the SI's, but wouldn't you have to change the head on the K24 block to an SI's head too? or would the head already on the CRV's k24 block work with the SI's variable timing?
Basically what im asking is will the SI E.C.U work on a CRV head?

Dont get me wrong but I'd love to do this swap myself with my 01 DX, personnally im pretty sick and tierd of being on the bottom of the food chain with my car. Im hoping that this swap will workout for us.
PLEASE HELP with any input or suggestions.

ideally, i'd want a k24 block, TSX head, k20a tranny (6 speed, lsd), and any ECU that worked with it. Also, i'd look into the accord's pedal linkage stuff and possibly ECU because the TSX uses throttle by wire which is the reason Hondata hasn't tried anything with the TSX ECU. Hasport is supposed to be coming out with a motor mount kit soon for the k24 as well.

You will loose power if you put the K20A3 head on the K24 block. Get the K24A4(not 100% sure on code) the K24 from the CRV. Use the K20A3 tranny and ECU. the ECU will run everything just fine. Hasport will be coming out with the K24 mounts in the next month or so. This is the swap I want to do. If you want the true IVtec, get the K20A2 head and ECU to mount on the K24 block. You can get the K24 motor, K20A3 tranny, and K20A3 ECU for like $1500. Don't forget you need the SI radiator and Fan, RSX shifter cables, subframe, SI axels, custom clutchline, custom AC lines(if AC is wanted), and the RSX PS resivor and line(if PS is wanted).
