Crazy plan thats just crazy enough to work?
ok, so my first question will be, should i be put to sleep now or later?
now for the real thing, ok, im cheap, very cheap, cheap enough to decide to custom up a supercharger for my car. ive been thinking about it, and it would end up being about 700$ less then custom making a turbo kit. i would use the vortech supercharger as if it were a turbo, just run it off the crank. i would use a turbo intercooler etc. this would eliminate having to pay for the turbo manifold, downpipe, boost controller, blow off valve, and turbo timer. my question is, if i got this setup to actually work, would high flow (440cc) fuel injectors and an emanage to up fuel delivery be enough? i want to set it up to run about 7-8 lbs of boost. so can this work? i can do all the welding/custom assembling myself.

dude, talk about crazy, i think ur trying to make a completely new product that i dont forsee working. i personally have never seen a civic with a SC and a turbo intercooler. and i see this costing more than doing a turbo

yeah, there are civics with superchargers, just not any 7th gen so i hope that the crank can make enough power, dont forget, that the power would build since more and more power would be going to the crank since the supercharger is putting more and more air into engine as the rpms rise. and besides, why can you use a vortech supercharger with a turbo intercooler? superchargers and turbos are hte same thing, they just get their power from different sources. oh, and yeah i am practially planning on making a new product.
If it was easy to make a bracket to put a centrifugal supercharger into the 7th Gen Civic and make it run safely, companies like Vortech would have built a kit already. I don't see how it will be cheaper.

Its allot more work making a shaft and pulley system to drive the SC than it is to make a turbo manifold....... If your willing to ditch your powersteering than you could make a hydrocharger.
A hydrocharger is a hydrolicly driven SC. you can put a pump in place of your power steering pump (PS pump won make enough pressure) and then hook a hydrolic motor up to the SC. Then all you need to do is have napa make youa set of hoses....now thats crazy! BTW: you can find all of theese componets from your local junk yard.

heh, yeah i know this is a crazy idea, and custom fabrication is cheap IF you do it urself. and yes i admit i do suck, but hey, like i said before, im cheap and im willing to admit it, but not by choice. its more of a thing where i want to have a fast car, but dont have the money, so i come up with these crazy, fresh outa my @$$ ideas.
No Idea is a bad idea.
Plus where do people with experience get it . . . by trying new things themselves.
Greddy, Jackson racing sc, and other large companies do not make kits for 7th gen civics because they cannot make their usual rediculusly high profit margin on this platform because they cannot make it street legal (emission wise) cheaply.
