Which engine?
I'm having trouble deciding on an engine for my lil' civ. I was thinking about the usual K20 swap. Is their any decent engines besides the old B16's? Also I heard that the K24 is a hard swap for the civic's. Help please.

it is illegal to put a B series engine into our cars. Plus, with the K20 here, it would be stupid. I dont' believe anybody has done the frankestein swap yet. I know that HAsport is coming out with the motor mounts for it in march.
reading other posts will help you out a lot. You have to decide on what you want. If you just turbo your car now you'll have a blast and plenty of hp if done corrrectly. If you're looking for a swap you can either go with a K20 or K24. The K20 will provide more hp but less torque than the K24. They both have mounts out from Hasport. The K24 will be less $ since those engines hve been out longer and aren't in that much demand compared to the RSX's K20. If you're gonna stay natural stick with the K20, cause bolt ons yield nice power. The K24 can give some nice hp #'s and nice low end torque, but in order to do this well you need a blower.
Nice. Thanks guys. But what about a nice force induction engine. I don't care about the law. I would want an older engine like the B16 but the law is the law. I've been dreaming of an R34 N1 block from a 1998 Nissan Skyline but that will never happens. Thanks.

puttin any b series engine in our cars is just plain senseless when you have the K series motor. SF is making a turbo kit for the K20 swap in our cars.
i believe that HASport was having troubles putting a B series into our car as well. Or they just decided that the measurements wouldnt work out. I think they said for it to work you need a custom intake manifold. Just seems like a lot of work for a now "dated" motor. The K series really is the way to go if you want the max performance out of a motor swap.
Hey does the K swaps have a NOS kit out for it. Yeah I will probably go with the K20 or K24 with a turbo. Plus when I get it i can port and polish the engine and intake plus custom exhaust that will burst windows 5 miles away.

dont get the b-series, those engines are becomming extinct and 1. the supply is very low 2. there is a high demand.... and they those two variables co-exist there are only 2 bad things that come from this... 1. prices are skyrocketing 2. there arn't that many extra engines floating around...
for example, what if you need another tranny? it would be cheaper in the next 3-5 years and easier to find a k-series tranny because there isn't going to be any more b-series. what ever honda made, thats it...
anyways it will be cheaper also because the market is being fludded with the k series
