Ok, i finally dynod the beast.

This is both good and bad.
Bad: I know that the stock clutch can only handle 200 ft/lbs of torque,
Good: I made 200 ft/lbs at 4,300 rpm

My clutch let go right at 200 ft/lbs. I will post the dyno run later. I made a second pass on the dyno with just feathering the throttle and it made 200 ft/lbs from 4300 rpm all the way til after 6500 rpm. The clutch was slipping the whole damn time. I also have a video, but it is rather large, and i dont have DSL. But my man Richard is going to email me my graps later on tonight so i can post them.

we expect around 250-260 ft/lbs with a clutch that holds. That translates into somewhere around 270-300 whp.

Of course we will not know until i run it with a better clutch.

What clutch you going with? That's my next mod so I'm curious to see what people bought. Im thinkin of the centerforce dual friction clutch with the ACT pro-lite flywheel setup. Any other decent setups that's cost effective?

Well, we will be making a flywheel for our cars. They are special, and there is nothing out on the market like them for these cars. They will be aluminum, with inserts that you can replace when they get worn.

We may have the clutch changed by this next weekend, so i may be able to dyno it again then.

Well yeah when you add something like that especially a turbo, you need too add stuff that could hanlde it, its like lowering your car without shocks, just coilovers, u need the other half of it. 91 or higher octane for turbo, plugs etc. all that.

You can man. I'm still on my stock. His upgrades are pretty large, that and the fact that it's been subject to repeated abuse.

Cat, how much you want for a custom flywheel?

horsepower numbers are derived from the equation (torque * RPM)/5250

When the clutch only holds 200 ft.lbs, the whp does not read correctly. With the clutch slipping from 3800 RPM til redline, the car still made 235 whp. With the new clutch installed, it should have no problem making 260 whp. At the highest, it will probably touch 300. And make about 250-265 ft/lbs.

whp means that it is measured at the wheels. That is the true hp that goes to the ground.

car manufactures ususally measure hp at the flywheel w/o the a/c and other accessories robing power from the motor. They do this to make it appear that the engine is more powerful than it actually is.

EDIT: whp is measured on a chassis dyno while hp measured at the flywheel is measured on a engine dyno.
