i still can't believe how crazy this thing is...

yeah no doubt... 200hp to the wheels with K20 is pretty expensive... swap is no good imo... and you can rev to 8500 all day, K drops off in power above 7500.... doesnt make it faster just cause it revs hiugher, and a D17 could rev to 9k if built right...

The reason they rev to 8500 is because they make no torque. With that same equation above, you can see that. If they only revved to 7000 RPM the motor would only make 160 hp. And how much torque do they have?

Actually, with the way things are going Hondata might actually make an upgrade for our car.....they may see that there is really a market for our engine.

Stock Civic EX puts out 127hp (at the crank, not the wheels). This translates to around 105 to 110 whp, depending on who you ask. In other words, your transmission, CV joints and accessories rob about 15-20 hp.

I think the Civic LX puts out 115hp at the crankshaft (correct me if I'm wrong).

With that said and based on what I've read here, boosting a D17 is a far more cost-effective way to get power. That is over swapping a K20. The K20 out of the Type-S RSX does produce 200hp, but only in a very narrow band. Plus the engine has very poor torque figures. Well, more than the stock Civic engine, but poor in comparison to a D17 running even modest boost.

I'm still debating whether or not to boost my car or sell it and get something faster... Probably make up my mind once it gets warmer up here.

i am looking at the ACT Extreme Performance Stage 1 kit with the Prolite XACT flywheel (8.2 lbs).

I dont' know what the difference b/n the stage 1 and stage 2 kit. They both can handle 270 ft/lbs.

Yeah Mike S told me today that I need a clutch that holds at least 250 ft/lbs of torque or it's a waste... I may have to go with a stronger act setup. either way i'm def gettin the prolite
