D17 internals.......

Well I think there should be a thread that list all of the internals available for our cars. For example, cams, pistions, valve springs, rods.

We should list all the parts and all the companies that make them.

Also what I would like to know is does anyone have a 7thgen with upgraded internals that is running higher than the recommened 6-8 psi daily???

i'm running 10 psi daily... lol... no knocking or detonation... my a/f gauge stays green at boost... i don't think you need internals unless you want to boost any higher that 12+ psi... that's just my opinion...

SEE you cant just say **** like that cause your not running 10psi daily ... and thats just it... thats messed up for u to say that only cause what if he turned his turbo upto 10psi ? u need to state that ur using 'alcohol injection' and THAT- THAT ALONE is whats keeping you from dentonation.. otherwise ur engine would be toast at 10psi without internals...

sorry not tryin to sound like im attacking you.. i just would hate to see vin blow his engine up cause he saw that ur running 10psi with no internal work and figured he could too. ya know.

6-7 psi is normal without internal work on an LX ... 8ish for an EX

Do you know this for a fact, because to me it seems that you should be able to boost more on the LX than the EX due to the EX having a higher compression ratio. Just my opinion, unless you know something else about the EX that would allow it to handle more boost than an LX.

no.. i think oso is wrong there.. i think EX can actually handle 1psi less or so due to compression ratio...

i neglected to mention that... i have alcohol injection BUT at one time i wasn't using alcohol injection and it was running fine without it... no detonation or knocking.... the alcohol is just a safe guard for me...

i should have made a disclaimer and said that you should only boost at your own risk... then again boosting at any psi is potential risk for blowing a motor....

Ok.....back to internals.....JE makes pistons for our cars. As far as Rods and any other brand of piston, You can pretty much contact any company and give them specs of what size piston you would like and they will customs make them for you. It may be a little more expensive but you'll have the built motor and will be happy when you arent blown.

crower makes rods
anyone make anything that will help with fuel? like pumps, rails, etc...? cant run more boost without more fuel. i heard that you can do something to the ECU to make it feed more fuel, but they werent talking about our cars but could you do something like that with our ECU?

^^^what piston rings do you have?
i've got wiseco pistons(501), crower rods(723), and sealed power rings(86). BCE engineering, some company in the mainland got the parts for me and did the head. pnp, valve job, and super street packagew/upgraded exhaust valve.

The EX can handle more because it pulls a little bit of timing out when it goes into vtec. So that overcompensates for the compression ratio. Making it safer for an extra 1 psi of boost.
