andyman (SF) vs. zinkyroo (maxrev)

Anywho, I wasn't planning on running with ice, I was going to use roome temp ice and boost at whatever psi he wants to boost at. And no, I won't use alcohol injection. I don't even need it until I'm at around 9 lbs. If he wants to run at 7 lbs, that's fine with me, I am not going to use ice in the intercooler. This is not a slow kit, you saw catalyst ran a 13.6 on 9 lbs with a fmic.

isn't about money spent to horspower gained.so if andy got all the upgades avalible and spent less then its still a fair kit.as far as being a beter kit that can't be determend by horsepower alone, more like driveability, torque curve, spool up time (turbo lag),as well as max capability.
stafford fab. turbo system 2900.00
alcohol in jection 100.00
turbo upgrade 100.00
air / water intercooler 400.00
total 3600.00
if he doesn't use ice in the cooler it is less efficient as the air to air
-400.00
if he doesn't use alcohol -100
so for the race it sounds like andy is at a 2900.00 kit with some efficientcey loss with out ice .dose it sound like a fair race now.
what has zinky spent on his kit and did he have to pay to get it tuned on a dyno to make it run right?

it's like running a N/A k20 against a N/A d17, its just not fair.

so much trash talk...
also I don't think price of the kits is a really good comparison since price varies. You can always lower or raise the price anytime just according to the demand. (ie. you are selling a $3000 kit right now, but then later when no one is buying, you might have to lower it to $2000 or so, just so you can get rid of it).
I also agree that the driver's ability need to factor into this, unless you guys are running on the strip and can get a time slip somehow...whoever cross the finish line first doesn't really mean he has a better kit. As for the kit, keep everything to the base kit would be better for comparison. but if someone wants to do all the upgrades, then ahead, just know that you are "racing" for the fun of it and not to prove anything.
just my 2 cents..

I really dont know why this is turning into a giant bash fest...I don't care if I win or lose I am happy with the setup I have. And I think thats all that matters when your get a turbo setup. I dont care if my car is slower than a car with SF's setup, I have faith in all of my components I chose, and thats all I care about. Now feel free to call me whatever you like, and I could care less because this is a god damn message board.

Andyman is actually a really competent person. And he has no problem asking questions when he doesnt know what something is. I am sure that now that he knows what all goes where on the turbo kit, he could take it off and put it back on all within a couple hours.
The place he gets his (awesome) attitude from is the group of street racers he hangs out with. By going to colorado and meeting him and his friends, we got to go to the street races out there and just hang out (since the colorado street races are more like a car show, since nobody races).
But now andy does have the car to back up his talk. If andy doesnt use ice in the intercooler, and doesnt use the alcohol injection, his car will actually be slower than our base kit. Believe me, i have had all the kits on my car. Without ice in the intercooler, and without the alcohol injection, Andy's car is still fast.
