I believe there are two Mikes. Mike Stafford from Stafford Fabrications, aka SFpower. And the other Mike is Catalyst.

Add some watter wetter to your radiator..it should bring it down 75 degrees,
also change to full synthetic oil and add engine temp reducer addative.
Good luck!

Water wetter might help a little, but you have bigger issues....
You need to find out why the head gasket blew. They just don't "go." You were obviously running too lean w/ the ice intercooler (hence your staying w/ an Evo), so my suggestion is that you need to start monitering your A/F ratio. I would suggest a wideband O2 sensor, since the autometer gauges don't work for ish to do real tuning... Also, what type of FMU are you running (I forgot)? Make sure you are adjusting the fuel and spark curves for the lower ambient air temp.....
Just my $0.02.... Sounds like a nice setup though.....

hey guys...heres the update, the head and engine are out of the car but i dont have my digital camera to take the pics from it all...the headgasket is definately f**ked but surprisingly nothing else is harmed besides my #4 spark plug. I figured out why i blew the gasket also, when i put the bag of ice in the charge made my boost gauge show 5psi even though i was still at 8.5psi at the time ( i didnt know this at the time ) sooooo.... dumb me and my friend went and turned the boost up so the gauge was showing 8.5psi again and ended up probably running 13-14psi for the next 20 minutes that the car was still functioning, LOL. stupid mistake but oh well, i get to upgrade the car now....it'll be running tomorrow with hopefully the pics finally.
here are a few of the pics that i've taken during my "expierence" so far. Ill get more pics of the engine bay and actual car after im finished today so u guys can see more the setup. WARNING...files are a bit big...bout 500kb a piece so be paitent plz.

BTW: How did you "know" that you were at 8.5 PSI before you turned it up at the time of the icing?

That's silly...Good thing you didn't kill anything else.....If I remember correctly, isn't the D17 block rated at 14 pound of pressure before BOOM ?

yep...u are correct, that plus the icing i guess was just a little too much for the car, not to mention that happened to be the time when i was beating on it most probably so it was just a lil bad luck.

That's probably how you beat the EVO........you had to be running 13-14 psi........I doubt you could have done it at only 8psi.

when the air is soo cold you can cut it with a knife, ill bet you could beat an evo on 2 psi. Temperature plays a bigger role in making power than everyone here thinks. Thats why our turbo kits kick @$$, we have the best intercoolers on the market. They flow a ton of air, yet the cool it down extremely well.
all i can say is "we make b*tchn stuff"
Quote is from SFpower himself.

catalyst is right....raced him last nite and won again, was at 7psi the whole nite and had tap water in the intercooler...temp was about 66-68 degrees when we raced. i wanted to see if i only beat him before b/c of what i did but i still won...we were even through 2nd and part of 3rd then i pulled 1-1/2 cars thru the end of 4th ( approx. 117mph ). my biggest thing before was that the clutch slipped through almost evey gear and now i have an ACT the the xtreme pressure plate ( 100% over stock ).
