SF Power Kit w/ upgraded turbo and air to water on EX!!!!!!
i got my kit today from stafford fabrications and finally got everything installed. Only thing is that i got the upgraded turbo (AR60 intake wheel/ AR46 exhaust wheel w/ tial external wastegate), as well as the first air to water intercooler setup. SO.....in short, im hoping to be putting down some good numbers on the dyno soon here. Ill be getting some pics up from the car install as well as some info on the perfomance after i get it running. ( still waitin on the wastegate
). Install was smooth and it looks great....for anyone that wants a turbo setup i would HIGHLY reccommend mike. He's great to work with and is of course always answer any of our idiotic questions. Keep checkin back for more updates.

I highly reccommend getting the air to water setup, its sweet as hell....added a bag of ice to it today ( bout 90 degrees out ) and it made a noticable difference in the car....i couldnt believe it. we were running 5-7psi all day just messing with it and getting the boost to sit right. Raced a few friends to test how well it performed and found out that its faster than we expected. Victim #1: 00' Civic Si w/ JRSC @ 6psi, I/H/E.....raced from a roll in 1st gear and beat him by 2 1/2 cars to end of 4th gear. Victim #2: 03' Mitsubishi Evo VIII......raced from a roll in 2nd from about 40mph to rev limiter in 5th ( approx. 144mph ) and won by a car length. Unfortunately we didnt get anything on film and the pics are still in the digital camera but they will be up soon.
Azure: It is a MT and the stock clutch isnt goin to be holding up for a very long time....shifting into 3rd and 4th it slips already and its only been a day since the kit has been on so that will be getting changed shortly.
NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS
: I dont think that i will ever be able to get you guys some numbers on the dyno of the kit on my car the way that it is right now because right after i got done racing the EVO i pulled off the highway to a nearby mall and realized the car was overheating ( NOT GOOD
)....after sitting w/ the car for a minute the conclusion was drawn that the headgasket is fucted......SOOOOOO, tomorrow im off to order some internals which means i will hopefully be putting a hell of a lot more down after im done.

I have to admit that at first I was skeptical about the SF kit. But now I'm ready to get one. Catalyst and SF, i'm sure you guys will be getting a call from me after NOPI Nationals with my order for one of your equal length kits.
so far i have a gasket company making me a new all copper headgasket, JE 9:1 pistons, crower rods and im still trying to decide what to do with the head exactly so if anyone has any ideas plz let me know.

were there any modifications you needed to do to make the kit fit an ex? i remember hearing a while back that you needed to do something to the exhaust, or is the kit now made so that you just need to bolt everything on?

Catalystsgrl is right.....everything fits and bolts perfectly, Mike does a damn good job fabricating everything.
FlyRiceRacer02, im calling KMS to look into their intake manifold and head work anyhow so ill inquire about that as well...thanks for the info

he would not have taken an evo off the line....AWD > FWD...they started from 40mph.
Could he have beaten a suck driver from a 40mph start? Yes. Could he have beaten a suck driver from a dead stop. No.

you guys are right...i would have lost horribly from a start b/c of the awd but if you look at the dsm world which that car is based on, out on the highway they do not perform as well as a fwd car b/c of drivetrain loss. also, my friend with the evo 8 has a turboxs RFL bov on the car which creates a spool problem for him with every shift since those cars as well as dsm's are dependant on an MAF so every shift he has to respool his turbo which wasnt help either. he drives it relatively well too.
2ndly.....i dont think i would have won if i hadn't shoved a full bag of ice in the intercooler 3 minutes before the race in a walmart parking lot, lol.....i suppose i wont know now how it would have been w/out the ice
