if you have any questions pm falken...........very helpful!
i dont think its that hard to retro; just very expensive and time consuming.
make sure you have an extra tyc projector headlamp for experimenting or if you mess up.

TYC's are really small inside. It's not impossible, but it's pretty tricky to do while keeping adjusters inside the assembly. Supposedly Valeo low beams fit right in, but I haven't heard of anything else that fits without major modifications. I had rigged S2000's into TYC lamps, at the cost of no adjustments. I checked, and rechecked alignment before setting them in and guess what... passenger side was out of rotational alignment. DOH!!!
Valeo low beams aren't bad, and they are supposed to fit in there good.. I'd suggest going that route that is somewhat proven.

i hve tyc on my car and i hve old solar ....tyc is coming off for retro...if i messup tyc then will just buy new tyc.....meantime i can drive with old solar....that has water marks inside....lol..
The best way to get them open by far is the preheated oven turned off, about 12 minutes or so does the trick. You can get most lenses off with a LOT of work without the oven, but it would be riddiculous. The oven makes it much easier and makes you less likely to damage your lens. I've had two sets of civic lights, f150 truck lights and a motorcycle light in the oven and none so far have taken any damage from it. It's the best way I ever heard about.
