what is needed for retrofit?

i want to retrofit either the valeo's or the s2000 projectors into my stock headlights.
itll prolly be a long time later till i do the project (money, time, money)

before i do it i want to research what parts i need to make the install easier and not waste $500+.

1) The 7th gen civic comes equiped w/ H4 head light bulbs which incorporate hi/low beams into one bulb. does that mean if i were to get HIDs i would i have to get BI xenons or would i be fine w/o it?

2) there is this one site HIDtech.com which sells a HID package which consist of
2 Valeo ECE spec H7 projector (with H7 adapter).

2 Hella generation III ballasts.

2 Philips 85122 D2S HID bulbs (4300K).

is that all i need to finish the setup? They say it comes w/ H7 adapter
would i need a H4 adapter?

3) would i need to buy a protective enclosure and shroud?

4) would i need to buy some sort of harness?

5) has anybody in this forum done the retrofit? was it hard to do w/ the 7th gen?

6) and the last question is............can some one write up a DIYrojector retrofits. to anybody that does .

thank everyone.

wait let me get this straight... you're going to be putting a Projector enclosure on your OEM lights? Why would you do that and how?

Why not just buy a HID kit made specifically for the H4's?

There is a big difference between an HID kit and OEM quality HID

With a retrofit there is,

Hardly any glare
Sharp Cut - off
Flicker/Twinkle of Colors
More focused light
OEM = Easy to replace bulbs (and not that expensive)

Downside to putting a projector in OEM housing....

Looks ODD (random thing sitting inside)
I would suggest getting a Bi-Xenon projector (so that you can have low & high beam)

If you have some questions PM me and ask, There are a lot of ways to get HIDs for your car

Just got my HID kit from impulse, H4 plugged em right into my stock housing. look great. excellent beam pattern and very minimal glare.

if your looking to retro

you need a set of projector head lights (TYC)
a lense
and H1 HID bulbs.

get the H4 you will be happy

I think that my lights are brighter now that I put my D2s bulbs from my Audi Projectors into my OEM housing. Better light output anyway. Yeah I sacrificed the cutoff line and colors but the car looks more luxurious and less ricer.
