Hi, I'm new here.

Is it true I can only get my key copied at a dealership? Locksmiths can't program the keys, huh?

My local dealership told me it's $85 to program and $90something for the blank itself. I saw honda blanks on ebay. Does anyone know if it would work if I buy a blank from ebay and have the dealership program it?

Read thru THIS especially post #6. I'd say call alocksmith and ask if they can do it.

Thanks! I had actually called a locksmith and was told it'd be over $100! I guess I'll have to call every locksmith near me to find the cheapest price.
I bought this car used a few months ago and the dealer only had one key for it.

It's a 2002.

damn that sucks...i brought my 2004 civic 3 months ago and it come with 1 key and 1 valet key...i told the salesman that sold me the car that im suppose to have 2 key and 1 valet when i buy the car..and he say yes then he saying that how it came in with only with 2 keys soo i told him im buying a car and i be more happier if i get another key made for me..the salesman went and talk to the manager and he came back and told me"they will make me another key when i come in for my state inspection[which is free]...sooo i got 2 keys and 1 valet key...great people great service..LOL
