question about hp,Kamikaze and dc header
Ok..
I looking for a good gain header but i live in SF, CA soo... my question is i heard dc header is c.a.r.b legal but the thing is don't product hp it is same as stock header. The HP and kamikaze is good gain for hp but they don't pass smog. i want to get hp or kamikaze header but i still want to pass smog what should i do? if the dc header is just the same as stock header so i probaby just save my money then. what kind of header do you guys own? do your header pass smog? do anyone know any shop that can it act like it pass smog (around the bayarea)?

depends on what u got man. if u really want a good gain, go with the hp full header....it will replace your cat with a "highflow cat" (which is really just a straight pipe) so it will not be legal. one thing ima try, is finding an old dc sports header from the junk yard, get the plate w/ the carb number taken off and get it welded onto my header...that should cover visual..heh..hopefully, and another thing, i'll probably just put the oem cat on when i get smogged.
Like me, if you have a Kamikaze header and you want to pass smog, smog it illegally!
Almost any places will pass you for a couple dollars extra. Either that, or you could install your stock header b4 you get it smogged. For the HP header, you could get a high flow cat. Better gains out of a Kamikaze though, you're choice, like somebody said, you cant get horsies with legal parts.

Get an HP with a high flow cat (just to be legal...even though the HP is an "off road" header), or just go for major gain, no cat, with the Kamikaze. They're all around the same price, if anything, DC is more expensive.
Face it. Anything "street legal" sucks. This is just how parts are. For a part to pass emissions it has to compromise with performance. On top of that DC Sports is one of the worse aftermarket companies - IMO.
The HP header with high flow cat is an EX header while Kamikaze's is an LX. With some modifications they can go on any trim Civic.
If you wanna stay street legal, then just save your money and stick with your stock header unless you want it for looks. Even with the RSXs, their best header is a race header with high flow cat (Comptech) that is not street legal.

Hands down, yet AGAIN, Zell's right again! Lx=Kamikaze, Ex=HP. Good job Zell! hehe
BTW Steve, the HP header with high flow cat is not street legal. We had a guy who got his car smogged with the header on and a custom exhaust. The problem with the HP header is that it won't pass the visual inspection. On his blue sedan, he had some white fumes coming out of his muffler and it smoked up his bumper.

May i ask what the i different between kamikaze and hp? do kamikaze come with high flow cat or only the hp come with high flow cat? sorry i know it sound stupid n stuff but i am a newwwwwbieeeee.. =b
damn bro, you cant read lol? it's all good though, the kamikaze is just a str8 header that bolts right up to your exhaust, a welded on "downpipe" replaces the cat, so there's no cat.
The HP header can come with a high flow cat.
Both headers are "off road"--illegal. If you're looking for a legal header, dont bother wasting your money on cheap sh*t on ebay or buying a DC header.
