It's funny how many people ignore stop signs here. I don't even see brake lights, they just cruise right through them. I even had a guy try to pull around me because he got upset when I stopped at one.

Re: ticket...==[

Just call the Court Clerk that is assigned to the district in which you are to appear in court. She will gladly tell you how much the ticket is. I know the phone number is on the back.
It's fast and easy and this way you will know exactly how much you have to pay. I would also ask, "If I appear in court, will there be any additional court costs associated with the fine?". If not then for sure go to court. The judge may be lenient on you with this being your first ticket. He can cut the fine in half and keep it off your record. If you do go to court DO NOT PLEA GUILTY, you will need to plea Nolo Contendere (No Contest). This means that you are not admitting guilt but do not want to mess with trying to fight it and that they can not use it against you in the future. Additionally, when you go to court, dress nicely (no hat and where clothes that fit) and be respectful to the judge. Address him as "your honor" not "sir" and look him directly in the eye when you are speaking to him. When he asks you a question, give him a pithy response (short but direct and to the point). Turn off you cell phone. If you follow these easy instructions you will be ok.

You can trust what I have to say, I speak from experience.

Re: ticket...==[

Why would you tell him to go to court just because it's free for him? I don't want to pay for it, he should just pay the ticket. Don't encourage people to do that.

My mom got the same ticket, because she didn't stop "Fully".

BS... I think it was like $300 + with traffic school.

This makes no sense to me.

If he goes to court and shows respect to the judge, the judge may cut the fine in half and defer it for 90 days. (This would save him money now and in the long run.) Why would he not want to do this?
I always go to court and most of my tickets are defered or dismissed totally.
Also, how are you paying for it?

I am starting to think that mr "DEX" is some type of piece man or something.

So DEX, what is it, you cop or what?

Someone has to pay for the court time and it's likely the tax payers. I don't understand why you would fight a ticket that you know you got fair and square. I should be a cop, most likely I'd get hired as a grammar cop and fill my quota here! haha....

Re: ticket...==[

The reason I fight my tickets is. I am an American and I do not want to pay full price for anything especially a stupid *** ticket.
I also would rather my taxes be spent on traffic court than a lot of other things.
Finally, I would have to agree with you, the grammar police would be on overtime if they decided to patrol threw the forum.

Re: ticket...==[

I went to court on my failure to stop ticket...but only because I knew it was complete bullshit. If I had gotten the ticket, I would have taken my just desserts. But they called me two weeks before trial date and said the officer had dropped it. I think it was worth it.

Re: ticket...==[

Might want to make sure if you contest the ticket that you don't waive your right to go to traffic school. I know in some jurisdictions, if you contest and lose, you can't take traffic school to keep the point off your insurance.
