03 LX vs. 95 Probe
here's the story: i used to date this girl, with a ford probe SE. i worked on her car while i was her b/f. we mutually broke up. she found a b/f who so happened to be a friend from work. thats the background. two nights ago, me and my g/f went out with them. my friend was tellin me how he put a new catback on the probe. so i was like...reaaaally...i've always wondered if my new lx was faster than the probe. probe was pretty quick in my recollection. so we decided to have a go on rt. 33. twice from stop. twice from 40mph roll. all 4 times...i smoked the probe. in the 2 drag races, he was completely behind me by the end of 1st both times. in the rolling starts, i had him from the get go. yay for me.
The '93 had 115 hp and from '94 to '97 they had 118hp, so you were pretty even power-wise. I'm not sure of the model denotation in America but in Canada the LX has the 115hp non-vtec engine.
Also you're civic would be much lighter I would assume. Finally, if the Probe was an ATX they run ~17's in the quarter mile; an MTX would run high 16's.
Nice kill!

Our cars can beat Probe GT's. I witnessed this first hand along with 4 other 7thgens watching as Greg from Hondawerx raced a Probe GT from a stoplight and walked him pretty good.
If you know how to drive you should beat him like you did.

old beater, cars aren't everything to a race. I witnessed it with my own eyes along with 4 other 7thgens when we had our car meet in Atlanta last month. The 7thgen only had I/H/E with Slipstreams and he pulled almost 2 cars on the Probe GT. I was right behind them. After the race the probe swore that the 7thgen had to be running a turbo.
i agree, cars arent the only aspect, but was the probe an auto or 5 speed? there are alot more things to consider like driver skill and whatnot. but i wasnt there so i cant say it didnt happen. later.

It was a 5 speed. But Greg is also one of the best drivers i've seen. He probably could have beat the Probe even if he was driving a Bicycle(24 speed.....lol).

Are you blind? I'm not saying that in theory a civic could beat a GT. I'm saying that a 7thgen DID beat a GT.
