Car Sighting
On my way back from buying my girlfriend her Xmas gift I was driving along when I pull up to a silver Mitsubishi which I thought was a Lancer...Well I noticed the huge EVo rear spoiler....and very large rims and tires.....and I notice that he is driving on the wrong side of the car....I could not believe that this was a Real Evolution. This car was hot. The car had Florida plates....The guy driving it couldnt of been older than 20. I was staring at the car, with drool on my lip....The guy was looking at my car too
....I almost forgot I was still driving.....

I think it is legal; emitions is the big one that costs more. I think it would be a little confusing though to operate a right-hand drive vehicle on left-hand drive roads...but for some of the cars that you can get, the pros would definitely outweigh the cons! One day...I'll import her and have some fun on the streets of Boston...

I prefer left hand drive though. It's a lot harder to shift with your left hand...has anyone tried???
I'm right-handed.

Oh yeah, that's the other factor to it...that would be totally weird shifting with the other hand...though I have seen very very early model cars that are right-hand drive AND have the gearbox on the right...now that's trippy!

Yeah, I don't know about shifting with my left hand. I can imagine it, but I can't tell if I'de be good at it? What about the clutch, brake, and gas? Are they reversed as well?

Uhh, ok, and when you all started driving a stick shift, how confusing was it to start off with your right hand? Its all perspective, like learning a new language. Ive heard a lot of good things abotu having the shifter under control from your left since you constantly bring the shifter clsoer towards you as you shift into higher gears.... but then again, ive never done it nor am i going to stand behind the comment until i have. And if i imported, it would definitely be a skyline r32 or r34 (sorry, r33 just doesnt appeal to me for some reason.) before a lancer evo.
Well here is San Diego I know there are at least five different Skylines. Soon to be six. My boy is most likely going to be getting an R32 within the next couple months. Oh I can't wait to drive that. As far as the gauges and such they are the same way. The needle moves the same way and everything. Of course the gauges are in km instead of miles. The shifter is the same first on the left side and 6th on the right. It is legal to have a car that is right hand drive but there is documenation that needs to be made with the DMV. The same as if you had a classic. I don't know for sure about the Evo but as for the Skyline they can be legally imported by one company and can be registered as such.

I got a vid of a uk version mclaren with RHD and his shifter was mount to his right, but the seat look like it wasn't where the right passenger seat would be it looked like it was a bit more to the middle
. I'll try and find the video.

I drive on the right in my home country - Malaysia!! and yes I can't drive a stick shift here because i find them confusing

The first time I tried to drive a stick shift here... i couldn't even get the car started.. didn't know that i needed to apply the clutch to get the damn thing to run.. we sure don't have this "feature" in cars in malaysia..
