Well let's look at this for a second...

People are swapping the K20 and K24 motors into EVERYTHING including Lotus and a couple other exotic I-4 cars, not to mention every Honda that has even been in production. Bottom line, the K-series motor is the swap of choice right now and for good reason. I haven't heard of anyone swapping out for an 2AZ-FE, have you? Even Nissan for the R35 Skyline is releasing it powered by an turbocharged I-4 that was designed based on the K-series motor.

As it was mentioned a couple times in here, the only motor that could possibly rival the K20/24 is the new Si, but I think it will be at least a year, maybe more until that catches mainstream. Go with the Type-S, the extra 5g's is worth it because you're getting a running start into I-4 performance with an already legendary motor. People even perfer it to the B-series for the most part...

u said something about swaping a 2jz-fe. those are popular swaps into a 240sxs.... the new si i would imagne would be the copy of the k-series engines

That's true, but as far as I know, it's not the most chosen because there are better options out there with the SR20 and the Skyline RB's. People mostly put them in their 240's if they're already built and TT'd, from what I've seen, because it's not a huge leap forward in performance from the stock... And the K-series has been around only as long as the 2JZ but it's already in the hall of fame.

I saw that list in one of my Super Street magazines, I have to see if it's the same list though. If it's different I'll post what they said.

I had a chance to follow a tC last night and it was auto....

It was slow...I was amazed how I was able to close distance slowly....

I have no doubt that you were able to beat a tC from start....

My first hand experience tells me this....dont listen to others...

Are you serious? 500lbs is a hell of a lot especially when take in other factors. A standard Civic will absolutely beat an automatic tC because:
a) The tC has a set shift point which as generally before the max shift point of the car
b) The Civic would be able take full advantage of the powerband and shift faster (depending on the driver)
c) The tC motor has an extreme problem of power loss around 5,000 RPM according to almost every major magazine that has test driven and from my own experiences. The tC is really laggy at higher RPMs.

i test drove one before and i thought it was the car but i guess not. The engine really falls off the powerband at higher rpms...its weird.

Yeah, you really got to take into account that the tC has a camry engine in it when trying to compare it. Sure this engine is meant for a big car so its got some torque, but the tC isnt exactly light. Toyota really didnt design the camry for people who want to go fast, so you really just cant compare hp and torque to a civic.

there now shut up and

civic stock 115hp and 0 torque

tc stock....160hp 163torque

now lets do some math

160
-115
= 45!!

gues what i was right, now who looks stupid here, me or you?

^well thats assuming against a non EX civic. And you were refering to Devani's claim when you said that, and hes got an EX. Plus you gotta remeber the whole thing that started this was guessing at a auto tC vs a manual civic. Then the auto is from the camry, and you are going to loose a lot of power because of that and in addition the engine probably wont want to rev that high. So like say an EX runs 108 hp with a 15% loss, the tC would be running 128 hp with a 20% loss. Then your talking only 20 hp and 400-500 lbs difference. I think if the weight isnt enough the shift time you can get in a manual civic is just worlds better than a toyota auto will do. I mean sure the manual tC is going to beat a civic, because it can deliver the power.

u are retarded.... scion makes 160 to the wheels???... that **** makes 160 to the crank and with a economy auto trany makes less to the wheels... more like 125whp....if u didnt know, there are 3 different civic layouts.. dx -107hp, lx-117hp and ex-127hp...WHICH one where u talking about??? i dont have to argue with u.... i know my em2 will beat a manual tc... i beat a few... dont care about the number or shitty driver.... i guess i raced shitty drivers...but dont care.... oh yeah that was before i was boosted... now Fvck them....ur stock , u probably raced them and lost... u probably lost to a manivan

Yea, I think that with d_f_d's, Boosted's, and my comments we can discern that a manual transmission Civic (apperantly an EX) can beat an automatic tC. Anymore deliberations?

So if AnaRki's Civic is an EX w/ manual trans, good kill! *thumbs up*

well come talk to me when i have my corvette, or better yet my lambo! Dude, who cares what you are GOING to have...all of us on here will most likely get another car sometime, but incase you for got....you are on a site that is for SEVENTH GENERATION CIVICS!!! which is what we have...and is what you have also. so it makes no sense for you to say its a pos honda, seeing as you have one, and the rsx is owned by the same company.
