keep in mind, however, this is not a 400hp WRX we are talking about.

a stock WRX is good for low 14's at best and that's WITH an excellent launch and driver. (14 flat is about as good as it's gonna get in stock form) and again that's only if they do a great AWD launch.

Thats correct. But... with simply changing the restrictive exhaust on the wrx.. it becomes an easy 13 second car. Plus turning up the boost is going to guarantee a 13 sec pass. These hawgs come with 3 cats. Take them out and your looking at 30hp at the wheels. Not to mention if he had a header hes going to be a killer on top end.

Just out of curiousty.. whats a standard turbo civic running? I cant see it being any faster than a mid 13 second pass.. if that. Im guessing at 230hp at the wheels.. youd only cut a high 13sec from a street tire equiped civic. And with the stock engine... no h22's k blah blah blahs... no frankensteins. simply a 01-03 civic witha bolt on turbo kit.

for some stupid reason, a lot of guys with turbo civics aren't running their cars at the track (or they're not posting their times anyway).

I guess by default, I'll use turboengnr's time ...

on bone stock internals, 9 psi, slicks and slipping clutch, he ran a 13.6 ... and he has the timeslips

my friend had the same kit, 6 psi, stock internals, heavyass subs, act clutch ... ran a 14.7 ... his 60' time was 2.6 though haha.

taking an exhaust out will take 1 sec off??? My car came with 6 cats...YES 6 cats.... so taking off 3 cats give you 1 sec off...your saying my car does 13's just cuz I changed exhaust???

no, they do low/mid 14s stock and adding 30 hp makes them in to the 13's not nessarily a full sec lower. and sec i think he may off had a bad launch but he challenged me so it was his driver error

yeah thats right, if he knew that he didnt know how to drive then he shouldnt have raced... if this wrx has the AWD launch abilities and his car is "so much more likely to win" then it still didnt, maybe it wasnt the fairest beginning. but if either of the drivers thought they wouldve lost, they probably wouldve stopped... am i wrong? driver error is part of racing. if i have the fastest car in town and i lose to a POS thats my own fault for sucking at life. personally i think the Subaru drivers are waaaay to confident. add it to the kill list. congrats!!

You must not know a lot about turbo charged cars. Those 3 cats kill a turbo car.. The less restriction on a turbo car the better. Thus the reason i run a 4.5" exhaust.. Tell me how an NA car would run with that big of an exhaust my friend? Wait I'll tell you.. like **** because there is no back pressure. The turbo on a turbocharged car is the back pressure. After it exits the exhaust housing of the turbo you do not want any of that back pressure.

Subarus are no joke when you mod them.. Whether its a standard wrx or sti. Maybe you should catch up on reading about them.. Yes a simple 1,200 exhaust from TurboXS and a 200.00 uppipe like myself have.. will instantly turn your wrx into a 13 second car.. Add a computer and your in the low 13's. Add a 500 turbo and 300 set of injectors and your a high 12. For less than 2500 you can turn any wrx into a 12 sec mustang killer.
You just got smarter.

but how much did that wrx or sti cost you before the mods?? exactly...you can get a 5.0 for around 3k...invest 3k in n/a mods and you got yourself a beast....easy 12'sec car for under 7k.......thats not even how much your wrx would cost...and all n/a...a 347 stroked will need a bigger exhaust...a 3 1/2 piping...so how does it go from talking about an exhaust to a mustang killer..?? well anyways..like I was saying . n/a 5.0 and everything for under 7k beating a turbo'd car....real mustang killer... nice looking turbo's though

Apparently your missing the whole point the my posts and only insist on argueing and bringing up unneccessary info. This thread nor any post inside the thread talked about how much money they spent. I simply referred that it doesnt take that much to put the subaru in the 12's. I nor anyone else for that matter was concered about who spent what.

I must of forgot to mention that our shop specialized in mustangs as well. I know what im talking about here. Im not about to turn this thread into I only spent this much and am this fast. I replyied to your smartass comment about your six cats.. and than you take it to a whole new level.. Im not making up tall tales here.. only stating the real facts

Im also stating fact...my whole last post was all fact...I dint mean to trow the money part in but you shouldnt of trown the whole mustang eater part in neither....I thought we were arguing about piping and next thing you know your talking about something else....and like my last post stated you do need bigger piping for certain motors...cuz too big of an exhaust hurts you not helps you.

wow. this is a nightmare... the 3 worst driving type in the world are 1. mustang drivers, 2. honda drivers, and 3. subaru drivers. not for any reason here. but this is a prime example. everyone thinks their car is faster. the mustang u buy for 3k would be used and old. the subaru... new, expensive... WITH ANY CAR YOU CAN MOD IT TO BE FASTER THEN THE OTHER, its stupid to argue who can make their car faster. whoever will dump the most money will have the faster car. whats there to argue about?

There is alot of really good comments here. How ever all of my friends are mustang owners and well I hate them. Every jack *** who drives them think they have a race car. I had an old 73 f100 with a lightly modded windsor and would kill 5.0's. Besides that I know a guy who has a wrx(sold a mustang to get it) already done up with a diff tranny and such. I am not sure of his 1/4 times but I know he ran 1.60 60ft. The old saying there is no replacement for displacement is out the window with forced induction. A turbo adds the replacement. I am just tired of american car owners who really have no respect for engines other than v8's and imports that make good power and stay reliable. Not to bash any body here but imo any body can take a base v8 and make power its the little engines that I am amazed and interested in playing with but it is more expesive....unless you do a k swap in a 88-91 crx.....this is my next project.

for one I dont say Mustang are the fastest thing in the world..cuz their not..I like Hondas like I like Camaros like I like anything else...I was just stating a point...and your point makes no sence...about money..because as I just stated...a 5.0 would be much cheaper....and the motor...please...its one of the strongest bottom ends you will ever find on a car . period. just cause its a 5.0 doesnt mean its tired...my car only has 50k original miles on it and its a 91....you prob have more miles than my car...but that can be said about alot of cars...just like you can get a 90 something Civic and fix it up..its just that you really dint make a sence in what you were saying...because I had just answered it some post ago..and dont judge people just because they own a certain car...I dont judge people just because they own a Civic...just because acouple of people that have a Mustang think their hard doesnt mean everyone in the world that own's one does....be open minded next time

I dont bash anyone...I LOVE STi's...I have so much respect for those cars..I have respect for Imports.....I dont dislike anyone of them...In no way am I saying Domestics are faster...In no way am I saying a v8 is faster than a I4....because its not true all the time...Its not...I love my car and thats all that matters to me....sure its a v8 but its reliable to me...Its a 91' with 50k original miles on it...has LOTS of mods on it and so the reason it gives me poor gas milage but thats the least of my worrys because I rather put and extra 20 bucks a week on my car for gas than spend it on fast food anyways....and I love listening to my car's exhaust...everyone has their opinion...just like you might like the sound of your exhaust...I lover cars. Period..If their fast..they earned my respect...and I can say the same about a STi... my friend had one...traded it in for a 04 Cobra...he said it was the best thing ever....could of been someone Trading a 04 Cobra for a STi...its whatever makes you happy...and next time dont judge someone k..? Be alittle more open minded and less ignorant

im referring to your statement how much does an STI cost... well you can buy a mustang around 3k...... how tell me. is that mustang in new condition? no miles? is it brand new? only thing your doing by stating that is bashing the depreciation rate of your mustang.
more importantly YOU BE OPEN MINDED. you hipocrit. ANY FOREIGN CAR WILL HOLD ITS RESALE VALUE MORE THAN A DOMESTIC. wait till that STI is as old as your mustang and check the resale on it before you talk ****.

and yes, i am ignorant... please, but when you deal with so many mustang drivers on a daily basis, its hard not to be ignorant. i do criticize people, not for what they drive, but how they drive it. EVERYONE i know that has a mustang talks the most crap about how fast it is. thats MY stereotype for the 'mustang driver' i didnt ask your opinion on my stereotyping. but you are the typical mustang driver in my eyes, and i am sure someone would agree with me?

please don't turn this thread into a domestic vs import thread. Mustang 5.0 basically stated that you get more hp for the buck with domestics which is true and still true today. Some people like huge V8's other's like turbo I4's both get shitty gas mileage.

I think Mustang 5.0 has been one of the more open mind mustang drivers on these boards. I don't understand why you guys are flaming this guy, he was just fighting with the wrx troll that was on here earlier.

That is what I was trying to say. Peeps here drive there 5.0's like they got a race car. Mustang 5.0 I am far from ignorant infact I am really open minded. I had a feeling you would think that staement was drirected at you and well it was not. I personally am tired of the typical domestic thought of small motors are dumb and big giant ones are da best. Besdies I have 160k miles on my 351w and its been rebuilt 3 times and it still runs, infact it was in the truck my dad teached my how to drive in. But I am going to get rid of it to build the rest of my inmports. For me its about what has been done for the past 50 years, they have not changed far from what they where orig. Unlike L4's that have changed the way the valve train works in such a way that american manu's have yet to reproduce it on a v8(and they have tried). There is not one thing I can do that has not been done before. Now that may be true for imports too but for me in my town i want to do some thing like build a fwd dragger just to spank v8 cars and maybe even do it with a fart cannon and a giant wing just for kicks.
But we are far off from the path of the poster of this thread who has a sick honda. And if I had ***** i would try to do what he did. Btw I need a link to the accel vid you made I lost it when my pc crashed. I have been showing a fellow v8/ import buddy of mine who was like dam he went far past the red line lol.
