me vs. s2000 & wrx

me vs. s2000 & wrx
i raced a s2000 (a buddies car) on the street and from a stop i did pretty well. anyway, when i launch i pulled about a car and he barely was inching on me and we ended up dead even when we shut down which was around 110. but, when i raced him from a roll he would pull pretty damn good and of course beat me. later on that night on my way home from my gf house a wrx "challenged" me at a light. but when he did the light changed before we realized and went for it, of course he pulled on me during first gear but after that i started pulling and ended up a half car infront of him. he later said that he had a i/h/e, pulleys and a boost controller but i dont know how high he had the boost up though. all n all not a bad night
btw if you wanna know what i was driving look in my profile, and i had the boost at 10psi

i hate impreza guys that just get a mbc and bump that **** up...<_<
ok good up pipe and tbe, and maybe some headers...but intakes are worthless, and hardly anyone does pullies on them...
he should do some real mods -_-

haha. very nice kill man. you should keep us posted on your kill list and let us know that 10 lbs of boost works out for you. im suprised you havent broken more then your motor mounts running 10 lbs.

its not like im running around un tuned but i also have a f'ed input shat in my trans but thats its oh and last week i snapped to bolts holding the down pipe. that was a biatch i had to remove the whole turbo assembly

TBE wuold do some good, intake and header is kind of useless along w/ a MBC (which can end up damaging the car). Better mods wuold include reflash, but I'm getting off topic.

a 227 awd car is only putting down around 180-190 whp at best, given it's not underrated. if you didn't know that, then you need to go back to your forums and look around.
a 10 psi turbo d17 is probably putting down anywhere from 190-230 whp, depending on the size of the turbo and how the kit is setup. not to mention power to weight ratio ... civics weigh a lot less than wrx's.

I would argue that torque wins ... to an extent. my car only puts down a peak of 138.6 wtq ... however, my friend has a supercharged 2.0L in his civic (I also have a 2.0L) ... which puts down around mid 150's wtq ... yet I pull 2 cars or so on him by 90-ish ... he also puts down 185-ish whp. Of course since he's s/c'ed, his car puts down a ton more torque than me throughout the entire powerband (we have an overlay of our dyno runs on a chart).

Im in a whole nother ball game. Its actually put down to the wheels slightly under 400. If your talking crank hp im about 500hp figuring a 20% drive train loss.

Ill tell you right now there is alot of people who cannot drive their WRX's. You really have to know how to launch one. Its not just about dumping the clutch.
