I'm posting here because all this happens on the street. Well I live in a place that is notorious for bad drivers. At least twice a day if not more, I get into some kind of trouble with other cars. But its almost never my fault. Some examples for you:

I'm turning into my apartment at nights with blinding bright sidemarker flashing but as I'm turning in another car is already pulling out onto the street and almost hits me. Also when I turn, alot of times the driver behind me isn't looking in front and has to slam the brakes. I saw this once and floored the gas, but next time I got hit bad. My car was ruined, no resale value, and now the rear has different shade of silver. I'm still pissed about it.

Other things that have happened are tailgating BAD like 2 inches away from my car. I try and do things like tap the brakes or go slower, but doesn't work anyway. I feel like slamming brakes, getting out, and punching whoever is behind me.

Another when I'm turning left on green arrow and someone is cutting me off turning right on red. I honk and they keep going, almost hitting me.


Okay anyway, my problem is I have a hard time dealing with this. I sometimes do crazy things, like keep going and swerve around, or pull hard in the other lane to cut em off again, or press the brakes hard. So what is the best thing for me to do in this situation? Just honk and forget about it? Give finger? I can't continue doing the things I do. I know its not my fault but still is a problem. Any ideas?

our cars are not fast enough to pass someone without some real mods so just cut them off and brake in front of em... haha jk

i feel your pain gearbox. all i do it fly by them when i can, or call them an asshat and turn up the music, and put down my windows. i don't pull all that other ****. and if they ride you heres what you do, slam the brakes, then gun it. cause i did this when i first got my car and this guy rode me. it scares them, really bad. and if they hit you, you win the lawsuit. have fun.

Considering there is no law or respect anymore this certainly is an EVERDAY event. I just like to play with their heads as much as possible, and let them know that they are #1. And with that crappy OEM horn I can't even use it anymore.

ya thats what i want to avoid. Alot of cars won't even stop they'll try and speed away after hitting you. My roomate says he just stops pressing the gas but thats also dangerous cause they get mad behind you. So I'm just gonna pretend they're not there. Altho if someone runs across the street and I have to brake, they're hitting me for sure.

im not stupid, im just crazy. and the situation you described has infinite possibilityes. in short, ive done it, they freak out and hit the breaks and they know they did wrong too. guys in big assed trucks who ride me(not tractor trailors) and stupid people who want to see if they can ride my but till i do 100mph. so i have a choice, either speed up, or slow down. i do both and it all depends on my mood. "moving" is a circumstance, cause ive been blocked in on all sides literally. and when a car in front is not moving, the guy on the side isn't and they guy behind you just keeps gettin closer, you feel pressure. and i hate pressure. screw them.

what sucks is that there's no real answer for this. every situation is different because every driver is different. personally, im a pretty passive guy.

one reason i wouldnt slam on the brakes as fun as that would sound is....even if the guy hits you and you win the case, your car that you (hopefully adore) is f'ed. you've put so much time/money/effort into the thing, and just to "get back at someone" ... its gone. is that really worth it? maybe you have the money, my poor *** certainly does not. worst off, they may not even have insurance. this could land you in a big headache.

people are notorious for tailgating in NYC. if the person is a real ***, i let them pass me, and tell them to go *** themselves, give them the finger, whatever pleases me at the time. generally, i dont let things get to me, i keep my ride in nice condition, and im happy at that.

oh btw gearbox, thanks for the rear tail light info. got my altezza's installed doing head lights tomorrow.

i had to get the chrome washer for my cf hood (no i dont use the leds) and they came aimed perfectly to get my window just enough but completely soak the car behind me.....i got it last winter and i live in az so people drive with the window down....need i say more?

I actually got them aimed out of the box like that before i went on a road trip from FL to OH....oh man I had the bright orange rain x washerfluid hahahaah it was awesome I'd slow down when they got on me and let them flash their lights then I'd do a continuous burst for like 10 seconds....they'd flick me off then I'd wave at them and take off hehe....good times...good times....


EDIT: I pissed off a guy with a convertible cavalier on that road trip too btw....Honda once again pwning a chevy...
