i'LL FIND OUT....

Its nothing extensive I believe. I know he has exhaust for sure and he was talking about getting a fuel management controller/turbo controller and possibly upgrade the turbo to something bigger. He gets all the parts at cost for his car since his brother-in-law works for some company that distributes high performance parts for Subaru and other cars. I am trying to find out if he get a turbo for my car of something else for the motor. He said I should get an air-ride suspension.

Im getting the new Vtec Selenoid that honda released just recently.. I should be in the low 14's with my new mod..

I also have an automatic!!!

and if your brother doesn't have much done to his car, then the S2000 owner let up almost right away.

if you slap an intercooler and a turbo to an s2k then it would spank the sti. so having said that there is no point to compare.

i know that. i believe the s should have kept up but would have a hard time winning unless the sti driver sucks. and my point again, if it did have a turbo it would be no contest.

well you're right but you're not.

if the STi is properly launched the S2000 has no chance. if the S2000 out launches the STi, there is a good chance it can win.

hmmmm

Well the subaru dealership near me is getting rid of their STI's for cheap. They have 1.9% financing. I went to the Subaru this afternoon to look at one and They have 2 left, one silver and a blue one. The dealer said he can let the silver one go for 27,500 out the door and the blue one for 28,250 since it has a few little extra things like ti shiftknob, and upgraded alarm and supposedly the blue one is more sought. I may actually go for it since I am needing a 4 door soon (wife pregnant). What do you guys think. I have to get of the 2 door eventually (by november). Would you guys consider anything else like TSX, accord, Lexus IS300, etc....

Oh my god this is the dumbest fvcking argument that I have EVER heard. I am so goddamn sick of people saying this......"Well if I stick a turbo in my _______ then I would beat your _________ so your boosted car is really not faster". I am sorry an I am really not trying to flame, but hp is hp nomatter if you make it NA, turbo, SC, or nitrous it is still hp and you can argue this in circles.

As far as the race goes I would say that it sounds about right, but I don't think that you pulled that many cars. Things are closer than they appear in the review mirror, like about 4 cars closer

if the S2000 outlaunched him, it'd be a very close race. at MOST the STi would put maybe 1-2 cars on him. 4 is too much.

i didn't mean that i was just pointing out that the cars, imo should not be compared because it is a totally diff category of engines. anyway i know i am not invinvible cause of vtec. and yeah i know that turbos can run without intercoolers. i thought that sti's came stock with a intercooler and turbo. am i wrong?

the thing that you are not getting is that street racing is not the SCCA autocross event where cars are separated by boost, NA, AWD ect. A STI and a S2000 are in the same price class (low $30K range) and the STI has slightly better hp to weight and AWD which gives it a slight advantage in 1/4. The turbo has NOTHING to do with this advantage granted it makes the #s, but you could take a NA engine making 300 hp (lets assume the weights are the same) and have the same results. It is not you that made me pissy, I am just sick of people classifing cars by V-8, turbo, and SC and not looking at what really matters in a race...... hp, weight and drivetrain. So don't take it to personal and try to think a little more basic.

word, everybodies's like "the SRT-4 has to have a turbo to make power, the vette has to have a big engine, the cobra has to have a blower. Honda's are so much better because they can make decent power out of a tiny NA engine" So what you still lose....

they are in completely different classes. AWD sport sedan vs RWD roadster.

ok in response to the whole headers comment, im an avid subaru fan and read way to much about them..
subaru owners actually do call them headers...they dont call them manifolds because they are long and large to be considered one...unlike an inline 4cyl honda motor where the mani collects from the front, the boxer engine has 2 ports on each side and owners upgrade to larger/equal length headers...so ummm before speaking know first...care to read www.nasioc.com?



you can even search ebay, comes up with greddy/borla headers for the wrx/wrx sti
