S2000 V.S. 350z
I'm getting the 350z in April 2003 just in time for Spring.
Just want to get some opinions on the comparison of these two cars side by side since they cost about the same.
As far as looks goes I think the 350z just kills the S2000 although it's a convertible. The 350z pretty much out does the S2000 in every catagory and it's a even cheaper. 240 HP Honda S2000 at $48,500 or the 280 HP Nissan 350z at $44,900. Which would you buy?

I've seen pics of the 350z's interior, NICE. IMO, the Honda's interior is nice for their low-end cars, like Civic/Accord, makes it a clean look, not overly done like Toyotas and such. But for a $50k roadster, the interior design is a key too. The S2000's interior is nice, but too simple.

Here are some pics of the 350z interior....

These 18"x8 forged aluminum rims from Rays Engineering are standard on top of the line 350z's. (They are the exact same ones in the pictures above.)
...yeah, I am drooling right now.

Since you are buying a SPORTS car, I would say the S2000. It pretty much does circles around the 350Z--it handles way way way better. In fact, when the S2000 made it's introduction, it beat some of the best cars on the race track. Some of those includes the BMW M3, Ford Mustang Cobra R and Porsche Boxster S. Although not yet properly track tested, I somehow doubt the 350Z can take on those cars.
In real life though, having the generous torque of the 3.5L V6 is a lot better. You certainly won't have to downshift to pass that trailer in front of you, as you would have to do in the S2000.
But besides that factor, I think S2000 is a better car. It has a more timeless design, and is already a proven car. Nissan isn't exactly the best quality Japanese car. The Nissan Altima and Infinity G35 has been criticized for having ill-fitting interior, something that is totally unacceptable in the $50,000 class. Honda has always been the bench mark for quality & reliablity, and S2000 follows the suit as well.

Remember the rx7. Those things were tiny but they weighed a lot more than you would expect. Also the mini cooper looks like it's light right? Wrong. It's a few hundred pounds heavier than a 7th gen civic lx with automatic tranny.
