I used him as an example because hes currently rated as one of the top race car drivers in the world..
but seriously, its stupid to endanger yourself and others on public roads. Your life, your choice, but be smart about it.

you gotta be smart about choosing your locations because like you said u can't do it perfect every time and if one of those times is in the middle of traffic either your gonna hurt yourself or someone else. not saying that I don't practice this "vehicular lunacy" (check out IMVfilms.com buy the DVD, (know those guys)) but I do it in controlled locations where I know what the outcome of my actions is gonna be

these are of my left tires. this is what a curb at 50 will do to them. i was thinking, since i will be probably fixing the mad pull to the left on my car this weekend, i would do a diy on it. as far as i know its the lower controller. but if i find out its more than that ill probably do a diy on that also.
I'm approaching my favorite turn right now on the road (I'm on my sidekick) and just thougt I'd post up right before and after drifitng around a corner... *taking the corner* ahhhh fun as hell like always, can't wait till I do it again later today. I live for this

Lets aks gary what he thinks about so called "drifting" in a FWD car
Oooh, I have a great drifting story:
So no sheat there i was in my car with my two buddies on our way to the local gun
store to pick the rifle's and pistols we'd ordered a week before. It was a dull,
dreary, depressing Georgia day like any other day in this great state. The road was
wet and i had to make a right onto the loop around on ramp onto the 520 from the
Bobby Jones Highway. About halfway through the turn i feel my car turning into the curve
sharper than physically possible for my car, then i felt the rear end of the car give loose
and we turned sideways and drifted for roughly 50 to 75 feet on the turn. I
controlled the car as best i could. As we left the pavement and slid into the grassy
shoulder i noticed a meanacing pole in the ground that was on a collision course with
my door. What made it worse i the pole was bent and looked like it was pointed straight
at my thigh
. Luckily it was pointing the other direction, so it just slide under my car
with a loud scrape. Then we were introduced to the concrete ditch layed out to make sure
everyone who does this can be easily identified. No friends were injured, hahaha, we all
looked at each other and kinda wanted to do it again
. The car only suffered minor
scrapes on the front bumper. After we stopped, we hoped out and pushed the car out and
headed on our way to pick up our weapons.
Wow....maybe i shouldn't own a gun..

Hmmm...not a smart thing to do until you understand the way how the car moves when being pulled by a certain amount of G-Force. I'm not an expert here when it comes to autocrossing but I believe some other members who are experienced in that who has a better explaination than I do. The e-brake is only good when you're cornering going downhill, and there is a certain point where you release it and use it again. It all depends on what you feel because around here, I usually enter Interstate-55 enterance (Its not a straight away, it basically has a mid speed corner) going at 50 or 60 and the speed limit for it is 25. At the mid point when entering, I use the e-brake (I'll probably slow down by 10 MPH) and if not, left foot braking (Hardly slow it down), one of the two. It took me almost a year to actually get it and I don't have to worry about state troopers around here anyways, they're barely around. Around my roads, it is DEAD! So I can go as fast as I want to as long a freaking deer or a cow jump out in front of the road. Just to let you know, I can corner around my roads at more than 80 MPH without crossing over the double solid yellow lines and plus, its a two way traffic, so pretty much I know how fast I can really go if I end up crossing the line. Practicing nearly everyday on these roads had helped me become more skilled than I was a year or two ago.
-Please people, I'm not trying to be cocky and I am no Initial D wanna be either!
-Left foot braking was taught to me during my Junior year in Highschool by my bestfriend because thats how he drives, one foot on the gas, the other on the brake, it was a weird method to me and this was dated back in 1997.
-Basic cornering was self taught and it was self improved throughout the years, thanks to my physics teacher who explained how velocity and central force play a role. He used NASCAR as an example when cornering, understanding the amount of G force pulled outside of the body as the velocity increases or some bullshiot like that, I guess it was more like swinging a bucket of water. This was during my Senior year in 1998 and graduated in 99.
-Brought my first vehicle back in 01 and it was a 97 Integra, met a Chief Warrant Officer in the Army who was into the racing world and he was willing to put his time to teach me better driving techniques and how to control and corner at higher speed.
-Again, I am not trying to be cocky nor put anyone down either. I notice that other members are probably jealous but what the hell do I know? Some people are just lucky to learn it at an early age before all of this stupid Initial D Fanatic stuff came along. Figure out how long I had my license for...DO THE MATH! LOL!
