my friend just got an auto intrepid. the first thing we did was race right after he got it, so im guessing the reason i won all but 1 race is becuz he didnt know how to race it well. at first he didnt put his foot on the brake to get a launch, and i did well on that one, then after that he started to launch and i still got him, but not much more than a car's length. We did 1 from a rolling start at 60mph, he handed me my own *** on that one, and felt he needed to continue to 120 on a 55mph road. later tonight, i actually raced my other friend with a 92 mustang gt. yes i knew i didnt have a chance against him, but on the launch i had him in 1st gear, he said he cant floor it at all in 1st or he doesnt move. i know this is true, but still should be able to beat me off the line right? anyway, right after i put it in 2nd, there he went like i wasnt even moving. a few days ago, i had the ***** to go up against a firebird v8. i know im stupid, i expect to lose but i still do it anyway. but this guy must have had an auto, or he didnt know what the hell he was doing, he was no less than 1/4 car behind me until about 65, then we both slowed and he came behind me, went around to the left lane,(i was in the middle) and he ****ing revved his engine like he was awesome, pretty pathetic that he didnt decimate me....oh mind you my car is absolutely bone stock. so you can imagine the doucheness of this guy.

The older firebirds, like late 80's early 90's are actually quite slow. 16 second cars for the autos.

even if the the older firebirds are 16 second cars, bone stock civics are low 17's. Next time, at least get a friend in the passenger seat and shoot some video.

naw i don't think bone stock civics are that slow. in some book i seen that they had the ex doing a 16.4 in a quarter mile.

Read like the thread starter has an auto...auto Civic EX's would be lucky to break 16's stock. Auto LX and VP are like mid 17's easy.

Is the civic an auto? A 5-speed DX is almost as fast as a 5-speed EX becasue of weight. There was a vid on here of a guy with an EX racing a DX and they where pretty close. EX won by a car length I think (1/4 mile race), which isn't that much considering.

But that is the slow intrepid, I had the 3.5L with 220 ponies, that thing moved for it's weight
