RSX-S vs. DX
talking with a buddy from work bout running his friends RSX-S which is a stick and has an intake. Basically he shot down the 7thgen civics has being the worst of all the civics. So i've gotta do it now.
Me - DX coupe 5 speed, HP full race header, CAI, exhaust, DHsingle notch pulley, and falken azenis on 14's, NX 75 with warmer/purge.
BTW-it's winter now..so dont expect any results in the near future.
I dont even know what a type-S runs??

Rep Power: 336 you're using a 75 shot of nitrous? this might come close to a driver's race if you are using a 75 shot of nitrous.

Rep Power: 0 I think if he can drive he'll win if not, then you'll take him. Most likely whoever gets off the line first and has the better launch will win. try to get a vid though since you'll have so much time to prep.

car and drivers 2001 type s ran a 1/4 at 14.8 @ 95mph. good luck with the race and make sure you keep us updated

There are people on here with 50 shots that have busted into the high 14's though...which is where the RSX-S is sitting stock. And some people on here that are running 75's have seen mid 14's. SpdRcrChick or something like that. 14.5
meh.....numbers are no substitute for the real thing i guess.

Rep Power: 311 Put it this way.....(live w/someone that has a moded by me type-s) when me and blondehondachik took hers to the track there was a type-s that only had an cold air intake and he ran a 14.4 so i dont think but i am not sure u would be able to hit that...........maybe but i dont know run ur car first................(by the way i am replyn off the first page i didnt read the 2nd if u already raced him.) good luck u will need it

Rep Power: 311 o and we didnt run to good cuz we cant get any tracktion freakn spin and wheel hop bull crap but i am about to get some new tires for it and then we should be low 14s maybe even high 13s if we got a pro driver in it....

This is all going to come down to these factors.
the launch, the traction, and the shifting....which he will own you in with his 8500 redline limit.
realistically your chances of beating him are pretty slim if not none despite the NOS and N/A mods.

Rep Power: 0 k series engines are supposed to have better hp gains from mods, so his CAI could be nice, i dont think u can win, but u never know, i got a friend wit a rsx-s turbo'ed after bein in that car, i dunno goodluck, stock can really pull nice too

Rep Power: 311 hey man put it this way....when we went to the track last weekend her cuz brought his sti and its got some good mods to it and i am not going to say the times we ran cuz they were both fubared and we are getting her car re tuned cuz my friend messed it up BIG time but anyway he miss shifted and ran a 15.4 lol we beat him so the rsx type s beat a sti so ya u can win but something like that will have to happen...............good luck

Rep Power: 0 ^^ more like 15 if that. also they redline at 8 and fuel cut at like 8200 ish stock I think. with hondata it's raised to 8600. ish. If I remember correctly.
I've seen I/H/E hondata #4 rsx-s run consistent 15's cause he couldnt launch.
As much mods as it sounds like aframs friend has he still can't get good times cause he can't drive properly. I'm gonna geuss from what it sounds like he either ran high 14's or low 15's. VERY common for an rsx.

Rep Power: 311 nana the sti (blondehondachiks cuz)ran the 15.4......(we are all in the same crew) her rsx the one that i do all the work to runs mid 14s with out new tires and with an ok driver.....till my friend messed up our car tryn to tune the vafcII and he totally messed it up i can pull on her in 3rd now lol from a role on....we are getting it dyno tuned this week as soon as i get the $$ and i am ordering toda headers and apexi cat back and getting rid of her headers and exhaust soon......she should run a high 13 cuz i know some one with hondadata and i/h/e and he runs 13s and i am also going to order some pulleys and maybe cams just to make sure we get into the 13s my guess is with out new tires and a good a$$ driver we will be low 14s right now with what we have
