my point was, with a good driver, it can shave some time off. im not arguing anymore. so lets just talk about the Si vs. tC.

i agree with s2000man01, theres more to racing than torque.

ohh and i was told that a tc run something around 15.8? i dont know for sure.

You weren't told that, you read it in a magazine. Gotta love mag racers! Anything is possible w/ a good driver. For example, mitsu claims the ralliart is a 15.7sec car, so far... we've had stock guys hit 15.0-15.3 w/ full interior. You gotta stop mag racing. MT got a 14.9 out of stock ralliart, alot of owners tried to duplicated it, but it just hasnt been done yet. How MT got it, I don't know... but that's why I don't mag race. Im pretty sure w/ the right driver tC can hit low 15's.

sorry, but i have to correct and disagree with this and please dont delete my post. there is a member that posted vids of his 03 Si running a 14.4 with:

i/h/midpipe
hondata
stock tires
took his passenger side seat out too (but that may be 35lbs...no big deal)

The debate of the SI VS TC still goes on. You SI owners claim the SI in the video was a bad driver (possibly as an excuse not to make your car look bad). If anyone in Miami area has a stock manual SI, and a video camera (and is a good driver), email me at Daman9685@bellsouth.net and well set up a few races and video tape them so we can settle this once and for all. You must be completely stock and open your engine to prove you are stock as i will open my hood.

i agree with you. but notice the mods i listed versus what you listed. intake/header/midpipe and hondata are going to give the Si a lot more power than intake/exhaust and hondata. not to mention he had a midpipe too.

either way we are talking a couple tenths of a second either way.

and about the deleting your post thing. get over it. i delete posts when they are flaming or instigating crap.

you mean to tell me, that a 160hp stock 2003 si with 160hp stock, did a 14.2 with drag tires, i/h/testpipe, hondata and a port and polished tb? your kidding right?
im on the 1/4 calculator and starts at saying a 15.9 for a 160hp ( assuming the curb weight is 2741lbs)....
in order to get to even a 15 flat it would require around 193hp... JUST for 15 flat...
to get the 14.2 that you calim "someone" did would net somewhere around 220-230hp...

comparing this to my car. 2 yrs ago, i had a b18c. 10.6:1 conpression, lsd tranny, i/h/ test pipe/exhaust, 95 civic ex 5 speed, decent tires ( 2.1 60 foot), cam gears... although it wasnt tuned, which explains my 14.5@93mph... now, you mean to tell me, i started with 180hp, same torque and a lighter car. i have more mods and yet i loose by over 40 feet? i have to call getting 40+ hp out of that car with i/h/ test pipe is rediculous. and no the tb wouldnt do anyhting for that car... maybe 2whp. 14.2 haha, stock z28's 96's and stuff barly do that.. i mean. i go to the drags all the time and RAREly see gt mustangs to 13's. i would ahve to say the 03 si had other thinsg done to it......

hondata makes a big difference especially with bolt-ons most don't realize that. And please everyone put you 1/4 calculators away they are less accurate than hotrod and me trying to use a watch and our eyes for 0-60times LOL. BTW if trq. is such a big deal then why do those calculators use hp to figure 1/4 miles

^^ calculator??? dont listen to any of that man. it depends on a lot more then some numbers. yes its important, but when it comes down to it, its the driver moreso then the car.

becasue hp is torque and rpm... and you need certain amount of power to move 2700lbs 14.2 second and 1320 feet. and he probly wont admit it but hes using somethign else besides i/h and hondata... and i know all about hondata. i actualyl prefer uberdata... its more programable....but yor not gog to get 220+hp from a 160hp stock motor. the stock exhaust and programming isnt that bad...i still say thers more than the mods hes telling you.. cause if thats the case, then every civic si with a b16a could run 13's.... BS

so what would you have to say about me running 13.7 with 172whp and an amazing 120wtq I weighed in at 2340 lbs w/o me in it. I weigh 180lbs. by your "calculator" that would be impossible wouldn't it?

also ran 13.9 with 166 whp same weight.

those calculators are far from accurate.

wtf dude...

172whp in a car that weighs 300lbs lighter is a big difference than 160 crank with i/h/e...

but good argument..

On my 03 DX Coupe, i have short ram, and full exhaust. I revved up on a white tC with a TRD axel back and we battled it out and i gained a car length twice on it. If my DX can beat a tC than a Si can definatly smoke a tC. My friends Mazda 6 with intake took a scion tC as well.
