curious: how does the rx8 fare on the track against more powerful cars like lightly modded SRT's and domestic v8's?

Depends on what kind of track you're talking about. Top Gear got the same time around their track, that they got for the M3...

srt4 can't stand a chance against an rx8 on the track, srt4 can't stand a change against 99% of any car on the track ( ok, i know im exarerating ), anyways, against the rx8, rsx-s, rx7, supra, evo, wrx, STi, ralliart, sI, specV and Cobalt SS and plenty more, the srt4 will be left behind on the track

SRT-4 yes/no

I passed most SRT-4 coming out of turns on road tracks. But, with a good driver and good setup, its a diff story.

I don't know what your background is, but SRT-4s are pretty damn fcuken fast.

I got passed by a HPDE 4 driver at Willow Springs going around the carosel(turn 4 and 5) on the the outside . I was shocked by what happened. It had a Mopar coilover kit, Mopar Stage 2 or 3 kit, and cage.

SRT-4's, especially the 04+ ones have a fairly nice suspension setup... for some reason, I doubt it'd lose on the twisties to a ralliart, Si, RSX-s, spec V and Cobalt...

SRT-4 is decent, but you should read the last issue of motortrend. They tested the cobalt ss, and it was the fasted fwd car they had tested in three years through the slalom. It was even .1 second faster through the slalom than a z51 c6 corvette, and just tenths behind a lotus elise. The other's I agree with, but the new cobalt ss is a no joke. 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, 1/4 in 14.4 seconds, not bad for 21k.

Nice vid.

I never thought of the RX-8 as a slow car. If I thought the RX-8 was a slow car. Then a Integra Type R would be a slow car, RSX Type S was be a slow car, i would even consider a 350 Z a slow car which ins't much faster, and even s2000 a slow car. RX-8 does low 14s 350z does high 13s. RX-8 rear wheel drive, LSD , front engine.

If those are slow cars for you, maybe you should be looking into more expensive cars like ferraris and lamborghinis.

P.S. Does anyone know what the car might run at the track and how much horsepower its putting to the wheels just like a estimate.
assuming it's a b18c1 ...

bored? ... how much is it bored? ... and is he on stock cams? ... that would be rather surprising if he is...
