Launching tips
I normally launch between 2500-3000 but i normally get alot of wheelhop. Its probably mostly because of my 17s i guess but is there anyway to minimize this? I also hear of people preloading the shocks or feathering the clutch. What is the best way to do this?

I did a couple practice launches today. I launched one time at 2k, got a little wheel hops, and then pulled. Second time I launched at 2,300...Hopped alittle and then pulled, hopped once going into second.
After, I just put it in first, let out clutch normally, pulled to about 6,300, shifted REAL nice into second, no hop..
I'm trying to get better at my 1st to 2nd shift, cause that hop is gonna get REAL bad when more power applied.

Ill launch mine at about 4500 and no wheel hop due to the Koni front end set-up have 17" wheels with yokohama paradas about half wonr down...they act a little like slicks its nice the launch stays pretty smooth and i beat a lot of cars off the line i have no business beating
Don't race in ur 17's at all, you'll be quicker at the track with your stock steelies more then likely. Try launching higher but don't drop the clutch. Try feathering it instead.
the higher you learn to launch the quicker you will be off the line.
for me i launch at 8600 rpms and hook around 6000 - 6500 rpms.
I'd say rev as high as you can, dump the clutch, slightly let off on the gas and as the car hooks, floor it. you'll have good momentum goin and done properly you should hook right away. Timing is the key to this technique though. if your timing is off you'll screw it all up.
